Much thanks! Ill snag some o rings and will try that trick to separate the halves.
I don't have the tool that fits the clutch, but would an adjustable pin wrench for an angle grinder work? Or I can try to find some pins or bolts that will fit and find a way to hold them at the right spacing...
Thanks for the ideas!
Wanted to clarify I can get the two external bolts out, but I think there is one more inside the can I cannot get to. I'll have to see if I can heat up the seam to get it to pop open for me.
EDIT: It runs for a second with fuel poured down the plug hole, so that's...
Hey all.
I picked up a Poulan Pro PP295 at a flea market for a few dollars. It appears to have lived under an oily sawdust pile for the past several years. First time delving into anything on the yellow side. I have to say the cable throttle linkage was a bit of a pain to deal with...
Part of me thinks the ball on a stick handle might be the way to go. Maybe its just the height of my workbench and me standing while grinding, and I need to get a stool or find a new place to mount the grinder. Or Ill just have to try and find something that seems like its going to bolt up and...
I'm not currently near my grinder, but the handle on it is just like this one... (stolen from an eBay listing)
I think part of it is that the plastic just cuts its own threads as you put it on the bolt, and that doesn't feel super firm. But its also not quite as long as I would like, and...
Recently picked up a Jolly Star, and am fumbling my way through getting used to using it.
First thing I noticed was that moving from a left hand cutter to a right hand, I need to make a big adjustment to my chain stop. Otherwise the right cutter gets a lot shorter. Oops. (That one being...
Quick search shows that there are what looks like the engine pulley, the transmission pulley, and then two idler pulleys in the middle. If that is correct, and both idlers are the large flat type (not ones with a groove to accept the "v" part of your belt).
If so, the flat of the belt goes...
Sounds like you could have an air or vacuum leak. You may want to pressure and vacuum test the saw to see if you have some torn rubber bits or a leaking seal.
Thanks for the response.
I did see that what Kubota wanted for the bearing was about half of what list for the same thing was from NSK. I'll keep that in mind for future uses for sure.
I need sealed both sides which is why it's odd the one I pulled out said "DU" and not "DDU". Maybe they...
No worries.
One thing that is a little odd is that the bearing has a seal on both sides, but when I check the part number it says there is only a seal on one side. I guess I need to get the version with two, looks like a 6004DDU is what Im after, or an equivalent.
Looks like SKF are now...
Hey All.
Recently picked up a Kubota garden tractor type mower for my kids to be helping with this summer. Previous owner passed away, so history is pretty unknown, but came to us with the deck belt cut in half and stuck in the pulleys.... Not great.
Anyway, getting into it today and the...
Ill spend some time cleaning it up before tearing into it any farther. Should be a little bit cathartic if I can get some tunes going and some time in the evenings to work away on it. Once I can see some things, Ill get some photos of what the inside of the cylinder looks like, and hopefully...
That's the plan now at least before I do any more damage to it.
Started to look into it a little bit tonight. Fuel line definitely needs replacing. It's pretty gummy in there. Guessing this is a case where OEM works best, or do folks cut the grommet and feed in some Tygon instead?
