I am diagnosing an old Echo GTR-200R Curved Shaft Trimmer for my neighbor.
I grabbed my compression tester, and I'll be darned if it doesn't seem to be hitting the top of the cylinder when it is screwed in all the way. So I grabbed a different compression tester, and same thing.
Is there a...
I don’t have the Service Manual, but the IPL can be found below. Looks like there are 4 different versions of the IPL depending on serial number:

Thanks all for the great info. I think I found some new blades that will work. I might just drill out the hole on the one blade that is oddball.
Also, what is IPL? Interchange Parts List?
I was given a circa 1992 Craftsman 44" Riding Mower that I use to clean up weeds around a small property.
It is a model GT6000, part number 917.255960.
I knew the blades were dull, so when I went to remove them I was surprised when the left blade needed a larger wrench for the bolt, and the...
Have sprayed carb cleaner around both sides of the carb, intake tube, and intake tube gasket, and no leaks. Also have a new intake tube and gasket. I do have a primer bulb on order for the heck of it.
Thanks for the info guys. I am confident that neither my old jet or the new Chinese one have any debris, as I have soaked them both in acetone and spent a lot of time with welding cleaners.
However, I have ordered some micro drill bits and will be trying to open them up a little.
I am going to...
There is only one governor spring that I know of, and I already replaced it with a new one.
I’ll need to find instructions on how to adjust the governor properly.
I am trying to revive a Briggs 6HP Walk Behind String Trimmer for my elderly neighbor.
I have tried a lot of things one by one, but now at a point where I need some guidance before I spend any more money or time on this thing. It was sitting for a long time, so I started with the following...
Haha, I am definitely thinking about mods.
I did purchase the improved bolt-on muffler diverter from GH Tuning and a Jet without the bypass, but I like doing reversible mods in the event I need to take it in under warranty for some reason.
When I Googled "CS-590 Noise" before, I didn't find much.
After Googling "CS-590 Clutch Drum", I did find a little more, and seems to be QC issue.
Home Depot is sending me a completely new saw.
My new CS-590 is making 2 sounds at idle so I made a little video:
One sound is like a little metal on metal clinking, which I don't think I captured in the video, and the other is sort of like a squeaky fan belt.
It seems to change somewhat when taking the chain brake on and off, but still...
Got my carb adjusted and it runs better now. Thanks for all the advice.
Hardest part was just getting the slotted head screwdriver to find the plastic screw head through the rubber access holes!
