Echo 7310 vs Husky 572 vs Stihl 462

You should be able to find a nice used one of any flavor here on the classifieds. Lots of guys collect vs use them or like to try saws from all the different builders. I could be talked out of a nib 440 for the right coin. If looking for a used 462, be aware the early ones had piston issues. I...

Echo 7310 vs Husky 572 vs Stihl 462

You will want a work saw/woods ported. They will use more fuel but cut faster and run cooler, never heard of one not lasting as long as a stock saw. The only issue I see if you are not used to tuning a carb saw, you may want to go with a mtronic or autotune. Getting the tune right on a ported...

Echo 7310 vs Husky 572 vs Stihl 462

The 460 and 461 are like a sore peter, hard to beat. Finding a nice one is going to cost you though. Hated to sell my ported 461 but a 044 fell into my lap.

    What Is Your Opinion?

She is clean, I’d see what rubber parts were worn, replace and port it. Find another donor for a hybrid..

Fundraiser for Randy and The Bubba

Rang it but left my username out like a dummy, pm-ed woodrow. Hope Bubba has a speedy recovery.

    Zoo City Sawz experience

I was able to meet Randy and drop/pick up some saws, great guy to deal with. While I don’t have much time on the 044 he did, it’s been impressive so far. Looking forward to another one.

Can't go wrong with a pistol toting monkey. Either one looks good though..

HELP! buying a new saw, what to look for and out for?

Hell of a budget range. Ported 261 or 400, lw 20” bar. If you don’t know how to tune carbs, go mtronic on the 261. All the 400s are already I believe.

one saw that can do 20" and 16" bar?

A muff modded 261 does well with a 20” 3/8 full skip, great for limbing or needing that reach of a 20” on a light saw. Full bar buried cuts won’t be quick but possible. You are getting into 70cc saw territory then. Once ported they are even better, crazy power out of a 50cc saw. Check your...

FOUND IT Stihl ms 201c rear handle

I have one now but it belongs to a friend. It’s a cool little saw but I won’t have it long, just wanted to see if the hype was real. The 200 has been proven for years, hard to go wrong with those. Mine still impress me each time.

FOUND IT Stihl ms 201c rear handle

As much as I love the 200s, the echo 2511 with a muff mod is pretty close but much lighter. That is the only echo I could see myself using over a Stihl in the same cc class. I haven’t ran a 201 though..
