    Setting up a grinder.

If it is an older oregon bench grinder or a copycat. On the backside of the chain clamping rails, there is usually a screw that pushes the rails forward. That is the adjustment so it will grind evenly for left and right teeth. if that is what you're saying as "evenly

1997 Husqvarna 36 Chainsaw Ignition Module

I would just use a used OEM coil. Lots on eBay. I use mostly NGK plugs. Check you gap between your IM and your flywheel. If your bearings are going on the flywheel side you could have problems. Also make sure your flywheel nut is tight and properly indexed to the key way. As that determines timing.

    Stihl 066 red light

You might try to ask this question in chainsaws page. There is a little more traffic over there. Maybe someone can move it. You have it in the repair shop. I don’t have a lot of knowledge of these saws.

You don’t happen to have any pictures of the difference in 1122 stihl saws. The 660, 066, and 064

    Bar oil alternative

A little off subject what happened to the biodiesel movement? I know gas prices went down but for a while just about every restaurant had someone interested in their used fryer oil. Seemed like there was quite a bit of interest in making your own biodiesel. Is there a price point that it’s not...

    Husqvarna 575 questions

The 575, most that I have seen have the blue rev limited coil and a normal carb. As stated I believe it is the 576 that is auto tune. They have a grey coil and different carb. Some 576 are not auto tune. Other than that and how the transfers blend into the case they are very similar. The 575...

    Bar oil alternative

That harvest king is about as cheap of bar oil I have found. You could try cutting it with something. I don’t like the smell of new gear oil and used stuff is even worse. When oil prices got high in 2008 there was bar oil that was refined used oil. It wasn’t great it was cheaper. Some bulk oil...

    MCCULLOCH The official McCulloch thread

6-10A, either a 1-70 or 1-71 and a 250. I was thinking 20:1 would be a little much. Aside from priming in the spark plug or into the carb anyone ever make a reserve fuel tank. I have seen it done on cars and small engines but not saws. A couple tanks have some pretty heavy varnish And the the...

    HUSQVARNA HUSQVARNA THREAD

Question. On the 3 series and old 5, 575,576 a blue coil is limited. I have a 266 that has a blue 2 piece ignition. A coil and igniter. Not sure I don’t have one on another 2 series saw also. Or that one is blue and one is black on the same saw. Are these saws rev limited? Or was this just that...

What is the fuel line size in these old macs, is it 1/4 inch. Do you folks still run 20:1 even with modern oils?

    MCCULLOCH The official McCulloch thread

I have a couple older Mcculloch chainsaws. The model numbers plates and stickers are gone. Is there anyway based on part numbers or something else to tell what saws they are? I suppose a couple of pictures would go along way. Thanks

    Winter/Summer

I mostly leave mine in the summer position. It does seem to make some difference in colder weather. If you are cutting and the saw sits off. Not having to choke it to start it. At least on the stihls I have. I think on some husky’s there was a little pice of plastic that slid open and closed.

    Husqvarna 372 xpw

Does the 372xpw normally have the cylinder with removable transfer port covers or is it only on the xtorq cylinder?

    Porting costs?

Yes, but if a person can’t work on a 22r you probably shouldn’t own tools.

    Porting costs?

Not a problem, it looked like you guys were having a good discussion. My only real car/truck knowledge is old Toyota pickups. So I can’t really talk about horsepower. A mechanic friend once told me the reason Toyota were such a good engine is because they never produced enough power to break...

    Husqvarna 575xp coil question

The blue coils are rev limiter, grey are auto tune. When dealing in aftermarket it is always a added variable. The last time I tried to tune a 576 with the rev limiter without a tach. I made more progress tuning it in wood.

Question for Loggers and Timber Fallers

All this stuff is getting to be the same. Farming, logging, and excavation. If you have the equipment and it is financed, which it almost has to be because it is so expensive. It has to be productive. Surprised they don’t start putting the locks on the outside, to keep butts in seats.
