Thanks for letting me know. I like how the saw stands on the spikes and handlebar. Rear handle, chip deflector on the wide clutch cover and bar tip are all in the air. Gonna say thanks again to husqvarnaxpman for heads up. Now trying to a cousin to get a set from ebels for a travesty of a 390.

I'm using a bar adapter. Balances great now, noses down a hair when in hand.

I would think the bar would act as a heatsink. I have never noticed bar oil boiling while cutting but I have not ever used a thermometer on a saw to follow the path of heat. Ha, short bars kill saws. Ok not really, just a excuse to run heavy bars.

Has anyone taken the temperature of bar and surrounding area where it mates to tank and case area after use? I wonder if the bar adds heat to area or if the bar acts like a heatsink to absorb heat to cool the saw. Either way a hot bar and chain can't help keeping the engine cool.

You do make that look easy. After watching those videos I feel a bit more confident in replacing a case half on a 357 thats damaged.

I assume that was heated oil. Thats what I use to do with snowmobile crank bearings. My advice would be to heat the oil over an electric hot plate or similar, not throw the bearing in oil then set the oil container over coals to warm up. You will be buying new bearings when it goes up in flames.
