Wicked Worksaws - Wicked Work Saws - Terry Landrum - WWS

Sad thread. I got 3 saws from Terry when the Aussie dollar was worth something and 2/3 were great experiences, and the third he made right. With no dog in the fight it’s easier to feel sorry for someone who has lost their way.

Any news on the new version 562xp

Which breed of battery top handles? I’m underwhelmed with my 160t and will only use it till 8/9 am.

Any news on the new version 562xp

I ran a 562 for about 6 years as pretty much my main saw. Ported, double dogs, fancy Japanese bar. All that jazz. Hung all sorts of longer bars off it if I couldn’t be *f-worded climbing up a tree with my 385. When the stihl 462 was announced was about the same time the 562 was getting tired...

    Stihl MS500i

No one can. Those that have run them for months in development and testing can't say anything. However the injected cut off saws have been out for years with no significant issues. Hopefully the reliability will be the same in a chainsaw with a lighter application of the same technology.

    Stihl MS500i

Still my favourite avatar. And as far as drugs/alcohol/prescription medications go, I think that those who will have a problem, have a problem. Irrespective of drug of choice. I just hope I get to see people with problems treated by the health services rather than the prison services in my...

    Stihl MS500i

Meh, ported saws are an expensive enough hobby that I can't afford a drug problem.

    550xp project makeover!

A muffler mod, a thinner gasket to set squish and cleaning any casting dags out of the transfers will have a 550 running well clear of a stock saw. As mentioned a 562 dog is worth having.

Looking for small rear small handle saw

It's not very cool in these parts, but I'm a fan of the 6t spur on these. The lower chain speed extends how long 3/8lp stays sharp. Less of an issue when you are in a bucket and cutting clean wood of course.

    Cannon bar question

There are tips for the supermini in 3/8lp, 325 and 3/8. I haven't tried a 3/8 tip in one and I'm a bit reticent to do so - it's a bloody small tip for 3/8.

    Any 67DL .325 K095 bars out there?

I'd be modifying a stihl 3005 bar to suit. I've seen k095 modified for stihl 241, can't see why it won't work the other way. I have both in the shed, I'll get some pics in a couple of hours.

    Inside the MS462C

Looking for small rear small handle saw

I have a 550 and 2 241s. I've had a 346 and various others as we use <50cc saws for the bulk of our work. Mostly killing olives, felling small pine and de limbing larger pine to drill and fill them (large customer thinks big pine should be dead standing). It's hard to go past the 241 as a...

Stihl 064, 066, 660 oem vs am rebuild

Interesting that no one mentioned pistons, is that just because stihl USA has dropped the oem piston price so much it isn't worth worrying about?

Stihl 064, 066, 660 oem vs am rebuild

So rubber parts are an issue. How about inlet boot, crank seals, av rubbers? If this thread gets long I'll update the first post.

Stihl 064, 066, 660 oem vs am rebuild

Sorry for stupid long title, I wanted something that would come up in a search easily. My first 1122 series saw landed in my lap and as you guys have just had a good play with Chinese 660 copies I thought it might be a good time to start a thread. Dotted in dozens of different threads is...

Tree Monkey 661 and .404 chain

I love 404. Most of the reasons have been mentioned, but the extra bit of kerf is gold when cutting stuff with fibrous bark and when dealing with blowdowns when it's hard to read the tension. Also throwing big rooster tails of chip is just damn cool

    MS462 FOR SALE IN GERMANY

Logic says that a 6kg powerhead with spring av is going to feel horrible to the guys who think a 32 on a 70cc saw is a good idea. That's ported 90cc territory around me, so idgaf.
