HELP! 029 carb leaking - pressure test?

The very best way to find out if the carb is at fault is to get one off a working 029 and try it. If the saw runs fine you know you had a problem with the old carburetor. I did that with ignition modules only this morning.

    HELP! Ms250 advice.

I've used the aftermarket seals and haven't had a failure yet. As stated above Stihl uses Dirko sealer so it's probably the best. These 250 saws aren't terribly expensive to buy so I usually don't sink a bunch of money into them buying expensive parts. Ebay has aftermarket flywheels that have...

So what did you do today?

I fired up an old plastic Homelite XL that I've been building out of mostly spare parts. Ran pretty good, finally got the idle adjusted where I want it, now I'll probably offer it locally for sale. I'd keep it but I already have two of them..

You can always use a bolt of the proper size. Normally they aren't that hard to get out.

    Any Difference in Aftermarket Carbs?

I usually try to get the Zama version if possible. The Chinese are good at cloning them since some of the OEM Zamas are made there..

026 build running a bit lackluster

I generally don't run anything bigger than an 18" .325 bar and chain on the 026. Saw seems to run best with that combo..

    What's on your bench?

Working on a friend's 026. I put a new top end in it, new fuel line and filter, new carburetor and a few odds and ends and it runs well at low speed and idle. When you open it up it falls on it's face and seems to run out of fuel. I've adjusted the carburetor a lot and I did get it to idle...

026 build running a bit lackluster

I just got done rebuilding an 026 also, mine idles well but seems to run out of gas on the high end. I was using a Chinese carburetor so I guess now I'll go back to the Walbro 194 and see if it does any better. I put a new fuel line on it also so I guess I'll see if it is kinked or anything...

    What's a good price for a 372xp?

A fellow came into the local lawnmower shop with one for sale, I offered him $50 and to my surprise he took it! Afterward the owner of the shop said I could have gotten it for $40..It wasn't exactly mint but was worth probably a couple hundred..

    What's on your bench?

On my bench right now is a friend's Husqvarna 435. I haven't taken any pics of it but when I opened it up I found a bunch of muddy water in the crankcase, sure don't know how it got there. I checked the fuel and oil tanks and they both look clean, must have come in through the muffler..

    What's on your bench?

Right now I have my choice of what to work on, Stihl 031 needs fuel system, Poulan 2375 WT, needs fuel system also, Husqvarna 435 apparently needs rebuilt, Super XL Homelite, no compression, 2 Homelite EZs need to get running, McCulloch 3200 won't run, and a Poulan Craftsman 3.6 that I can't get...
