It’s on the Poulan website, imagine that! lol Go to poulanpro.com, then Support, then Owners Manuals, then enter “XXV”. The IPL & OM will both pop up. Select the IPL & it’s on the right side of page 5.

The Official JB Weld Fan Club Thread

This corroded Stihl 045 sat on a basement floor for many years. Front handle bar case iso mount was half there. Rolled a piece of sheet metal to reinforce & JB’d her up! Sanded & painted over the whole bottom, about like doing bodywork. Holding up fine so far...but the chitty Stihl spray...

045 AV- AV mount broken need advice

You’re piston in the wind with that glue. You’ll be over a hundred dollars ahead by sending it out for a $45 weld job...even including the round trip shipping costs. Lucky that you don’t need to split the cases for that welding.

    Lil Red Barn

I bought his aftermarket Poulan 5400 piston kit, the ring end gaps are over a mm brand new. These are thick 1.5mm rings, not the OEM thin rings, but I knew that going in. Sent them back, but got replacements that are the same. Lee said I had a worn out cylinder, lol. So needless to say, I’d...

    011 carb rebuild fail

You’re missing something major, don’t give up... Post a pic of your pressure tester hooked up. Will it hold 8# pressure all day long?

    011 carb rebuild fail

Screw/seat the low speed adjuster in all the way, then use a short piece tubing & your mouth to blue/suck air through the high side metering inlet hole in the metering inlet chamber. The high speed screw should be backed off a couple of turns. The nozzle should pass air into the venturi, but...

    011 carb rebuild fail

If the high needle has no impact on running, then check your welch plug for leaks. Try to spin or move it around in its seat with a sharp scribe. If the nozzle check valve assembly failed your pressure/vacuum test, then you can get a replacement Walbro 86-578-1 for $3. You never mentioned the...

Busted a ring this morning ??

Thanks for the update, if I don’t learn something new everyday I must have died! That’s a very strange problem right there, since it repeated itself. I have reworked only one cylinder that someone literally put a square shanked screwdriver into the exhaust port to act as a piston stop to...

Busted a ring this morning ??

Are you still waiting on parts? Or what was the resolve to that busted ring?

Busted a ring this morning ??

It needs 0.008” minimum gap on that 026 with a 44mm bore. Push it in about a quarter inch & be sure that where the ends meet is over a solid part of the cylinder (not over a port). I’ve had two pair of Cabers in the last month that were too tight, normally they’re good to go.

Busted a ring this morning ??

What clearance did you your file your two Caber rings’ end gap to? If you didn’t check, that’s likely your problem...

    Tillotson HS carb experts

Glad to help. A few months back I got a HS-168 in on a well traveled 4200 that had the choke lever bent off the shaft, then I noticed the throttle plate was over traveling back towards closed again. WTF? They had even busted the throttle lever stop tab off! Some folks shouldn’t own channel...

    Tillotson HS carb experts

Good job there! The part number is 363-528. Think that’s the same nozzle # that MM used after that XL-925 caused him some grief a few years back on AS. I’ll send the IPL to you tomorrow in a PM from work. Just looked again at the HS-168 carbs, and they do have checked main nozzles...can’t...

    Tillotson HS carb experts

Not an expert, but have worked over a hundred of the HS series. About as bullet proof as a carb can be designed, if the fuel supply is kept clean. I know you ran that carb on other saws, but double check your impulse hole in the very top gasket of that 4200 or 5200 Poulan to make sure it’s...
