I have done exactly this. Not recommended as its a bit bodgy. I had an 066 flywheel with an x marked on it where the unlimited position is (no keyway tho) so I copied the position onto the 064. It's been fine but I really must pull it and cut a keyway with a couple of hacksaw blades taped together.
You can't replace a limited coil with an unlimited one. Flywheel key position is different.
You'll have to cut a new keyway in the appropriate position or get an unlimited flywheel. There's a thread here somewhere that lists all the combinations of flywheels and coils.
FT carbs are crap...
I'd love to see a series of runs on an autotune saw just after a reset to see what the tuning is doing to the power curve as it sorts it out.
Probably a waste of time as far as reality is concerned cos we just want the things to run the best they can.
Would still be interesting tho..
If you think they are great stock (particularly if it's the muffler with the one 5/16 outlet) you need to do muffler mod and advance the spark!

And yes the carbs on these are poop. Once sorted and...
Hello all. New here. Been lurking for a while
Had this exact problem on my 361 build and discovered the spacer that goes around the intake boot the carb bolts up against was a whisker too thick and prevented the boot from sealing to the carb properly. Thinned it a bit on a belt sander (I know...
