I got it apart this morning. It is the bearings in the PTO clutch. I will have to replace that. Not a big deal. Unfortunately, I also need a new drive belt, which is a royal PITA to replace. Thanks for all the help.
I'm getting a bad squeal/grinding noise at the front of my X304 from where the driveshaft and clutch assembly are. Strangely, it goes away when I engage the PTO (mower deck if off right now). Is there a bushing/bearing it that region that would cause this? Any other thoughts?
5B Should be great time to be out in the woods as long as it stays reasonably dry. I'm super busy for the the rest of this week and next night, so I'm not sure if I'll be back out before the Orange Army attacks.
