    254xp won't f***ing spark!

Couldn't even see it in the dark.

    254xp won't f***ing spark!

Yes, I think the bearings are the problem. The saw ran "rough" for a while then wouldn't restart. Exactly like how it wouldn't start with the old piston and cylinder. I think collapsed bearings have destroyed the piston and cylinder I put in. Oh well, they were second hand parts anyways.

    254xp won't f***ing spark!

I didn't look to see. This was a cheap fix to be honest. The cylinder I fitted came from a scrap saw I bought for €45 and the meteor piston cost €30 ish. The saw itself cost €40 and the bar and chain came off a non running 350 I bought for €50. So I'm doing okay out of it so far. I have...

    254xp won't f***ing spark!

Changed the piston and cylinder and she fire right up. 🙄🙄 Thats not the first time I haven't been able to see a spark.

    What's on your bench?

Bought this 024 running badly for €100. They had fitted a makeshift fuel pipe that was too wide and was flooding the saw when being revved. In fact, it nearly couldn't rev the way it was. I fitted an old pipe I had lying around and she runs perfect now. All I have to do now is find something...

    254xp won't f***ing spark!

Touching the flywheel, miles away from it and everywhere in between. Where do you think it should be set?

    254xp won't f***ing spark!

I bought a non running 254xp for €40 a while back. I think it has a spurious piston and cylinder. I cleaned out the carb and fitted a new fuel filter and did a general clean up. I also found a bar and chain for it. However, I can't for the life of me get this damn thing to spark. I have tried...

    Trees you've cut

Topped some leylandis. Loads of ivy, nightmare. No clean up though. Tear-cuts are important, especially when you're tied in.

    What's on your bench?

No joy so far. She's not getting spark. I tried two different could and two different plugs.

    What's on your bench?

It's 4 years older than me so 🤣. It has a big gash taken out of the back of the piston and a crack on the front of the top fin. I fitted the decomp out of my non running 385. I also cleaned out the carb and fitted a new fuel filter. The gaskets and diaphragms all seem fine. Hopefully it runs.

    What's on your bench?

Husqvarna 254xp doesn't normally have a decomp does it? This is what he used to plug it. Any ideas of the year?

So what did you buy today

Starts and runs good but I haven't put it in timber yet. Came from the US. €350.

    Trees you've cut

The man who did that is just a Dall with a chainsaw. He has no certificates, training or insurance. If a certified, trained and insured timber cutter like me done that I would lose my certs, insurance and reputation. But this bollocks doesn't give two *f-words. And he's getting paid in timber...

    Trees you've cut

Still not as wild as this roadside Ash that someone notched and walked away from.

    Trees you've cut

We were doing line clearance and this was just within pole saw height. Someone must have tried to cut it from the ground years ago and either got stuck or gave up.

    I nearly tied into this.

    Trees Other People Have cut

I was also back at the place that started this thread. They have been at it again, here are some of their first class felling cuts. They barberchaired a big Ash.

    Trees Other People Have cut

This is my favourite one. You have heard of "notch and drop" right? Well this is called "notch and walk". He just put a (bad) face cut in the biggest tree of the lot and *f-worded off 🤣🤣. Bear in mind these are roadside trees with Ash dieback.
