I've used both Oregon and Stihl. Quality is very good with both. Prices for genuine Stihl are normally very reasonable at my dealer. Last drum and sprocket kit I bought was just shy of $25.

1122 007 1000 is a 3/8 7 tooth 1122 007 1001 is a 3/8 8 tooth 1122 007 1002 is a .404 7 tooth These are the clutch drum and rim kits but do not include the bearing.

Its a standard 064 066 660 drum. No need to worry they are easily attainable.

It hasn't been mentioned but a very worn pump will act the same way. It doesn't pull enough to overcome the one way valve but with no resistance it will push the oil out.

We sold Opti 2 at the shop and it's good oil. I don't use or recommend any oil at 100:1 for OPE. I run 40:1 and haven't ever had an issue. We sold alot of the Opti 2 and I never did a warranty claim because of the oil.

This model loves a timing advance and a muffler mod. Everyone I have come across is able to delete the base gasket. They are not a screamer but they will pull very well.

I have used their pistons. They are on par with the Chinese stuff. Never had one explode but they are alot softer than factory or Meteor. On a plus side they rarely ruin a cylinder because they wear at a faster rate. I chose not to buy them for myself.

It will be fine. Even though they just touch the bottom of the tank they miraculously pull 90+% out of the tank. The 026 has pretty much the same setup for the early saws. The later models got a little larger hole in the tank and a different line.

No spring on the front of my 288. The full wrap is made so it would not work with both. It's not an OEM full wrap but it's made stronger than any I've seen. Mine is fine with just the rubber AV supports. They do vibrate though.

I was strictly sworn off the Husky saws untill I got a 288XP. It came with a full wrap and high top. Can't beat the sound. Great saws.
