Anyone tried to split this wood? Think it broke my Countyline splitter

I've had Elm give my 75 hp single stage splitter a workout that I am sure would have broken or bent weaker splitters.elm is hard and stringy. I would noodle it in the future.

    Bar rail groove repair

Bill was a pretty cool, I'm sorry to hear of his passing. I was there before and when he was was in the process of closing. He had said that he had bought some acreage in Mississippi with a catfish pond on it to retire to. I live just over a mile from where is shop was and still drive by it...

7 vs 8 pin skip vs full

I generally run 7 pin 28" bars on my 70cc & 76cc saws with skip chain. I tried 8 pin and it just lost torque and was hard on the saws. 8 pin on an 066 with 24" bar sure, but it is heavy.

    New member

Welcome to the forum. I too am from Oregon, however and unfortunately, in Portland. There will be a chainsaw get together in Springfield this June that you might enjoy. Message me if you'd like, and I too have a few Homies, but am more of a Mac man.

    Greenworks 40 volt mower

I have the 80v Greenworks model like that. It's lightweightand easy on my back with a tall handle height. Same power as my old Lawnboy. No compaints after two seasons.

    Battery saw solution

I've heard good things about the Husky battery saws, and about the Echo as well. I am pretty sure they will eat my Makita's lunch, but I think it comes down to what platform do you already have. As far as Greenworks go, I think anyone on these saw forum's are likely to want the 80 or 82 volt...

    Battery saw solution

J Jacob, I have two Makita's. Both 36v, only because I already had tools with this battery platform. The top handle cuts like a 30cc gas saw and is pretty nice. The rear handle of this Makita has inconvient controls and I do not recommend it. The electrical cutoff kicks in pretty easy on the...

    Battery saw solution

My Makita 36v top handle and Greenworks 80v work well enough. They are no gas saw, but are much quieter and no fuel to have to carry. Great for in town trimming, quick, quiet, and convient. They will not replace a 2511, nor 200t, much less a 70+ cc saw.

Stihl chain with odd undercut cutters

I dunno about that chain, however I do know that a Jonny 2051 is a very nice pro saw, that is relatively uncommon.

Not to interject too much, but, that Solo of Marks REALLY hauls the mail. Its styling betrays its performance.

So what did you do today?

Funny, my state licensed my M35A3C 6 × 6 as an AM General pickup. Yup 13,300 lbs empty and 13mpg with it's 3116 Cat and Allison. It has poor right hand turn city manners though and is limited to 60 mph. It does fit in the same space as a double cab long bed Ram. A great street legal...

    FOUND IT Red S25CVA

I'm looking for a Sears Craftsman red S25CVA. It must be a runner and reasonably clean, a few scratches are ok, but I'd like at least 90% paint on it.

HELP! Bore cutting with longer bars

Use the same angle of approach but stay at that angle longer and make sure your chain is sharp. I had a giant maple that was 8 foot at the base with all of the burl buttresses. That required a dozen or more (too tired to count) plunge cuts in order to save as much of that nice wood as possible...

Mcculloch sp125/101b kart saw build thread

New 1/2" chisel was about $6 five years ago, last year I was told it was going for $18. I have a partial roll of Stihl that im considering for a 101b, but is it worth too many $$$ ?

I have one of those Gransfors and it is a great heavyweight to have along with a Fiskars 27. They both cut over their weight class.
