We have a normal fireplace..... who else burns with a normal fireplace? People say online a regular fireplace just a waste of heat..is that true?

I have wood to split and went to split and couldn't get them split...I sharpening my axe (x27) I get the little ones to split just fine but not the big rounds....do I need a maul? How big If so? I have a splitting wedge, should I just use that?

Seems another maul.... (truper) I picked it up and it's about same weight as x27

I might need to buy the maul because the wood I have no it doesnt seem to split with my x27 I even sharpened it good
