In the market for a bike handle trimmer

I'd almost be willing to bet my paycheck that what you're hearing is nothing more than your engine hitting the rev limiter. It just sounds different in a 4-mix.

Take the guard off the machine and bump the line out a little longer to where you don't hit the rev limiter and see how it's running.

In the market for a bike handle trimmer

You're probably hitting the rev limiter.

    Definitely get the 251.

I need a damn good trimmer head for the Stihl FS130, FS350, and FS550

I really like all the twisted lines.

I need a damn good trimmer head for the Stihl FS130, FS350, and FS550

Whenever I was a kid we used to use long line fishing monofilament in 2.5 millimeter. It worked just fine and it was cheap.

What Stihl trimmer should I get?

You have to have it adjusted perfectly to you. Mine are adjusted that when I'm using it, both my arms are all the way down. The only fatigue is my grip strength.

is STIHL the only one doing 4-mix and how does that make more power than 2-stroke?

When you're trimming and there's windows 2 ft off the ground, or you're trimming around vehicles, you definitely don't want to run that thing wide open.

Looks like the heads that come with an Oleo-Mac.

is STIHL the only one doing 4-mix and how does that make more power than 2-stroke?

I had one of the first 90R trimmers that came out. I didn't like that it was either idling or wide open. There was really no in between. It was also heavier than an equivalent 2-stroke. I later got a FS11RX and it had more throttle control but I still don't like the 4-mix. I'm glad you do like...

I need a damn good trimmer head for the Stihl FS130, FS350, and FS550

I tried out this line yesterday and I really like it. It cuts like a pair of scissors and is totally quiet when it's swinging through the air. It's x-shaped but twisted.

is STIHL the only one doing 4-mix and how does that make more power than 2-stroke?

Within the first two months of ownership, it went back to the shop multiple times and it had a new coil, a new carburetor, valves adjusted, new fuel filters, new fuel lines, and they still couldn't get it to run right. I didn't even get mad when someone stole it. 🤷🏻 I forgot that it also had a...

I need a damn good trimmer head for the Stihl FS130, FS350, and FS550

A twisted square has all the benefits of running a square and it's silent and it doesn't fly erratically.

is STIHL the only one doing 4-mix and how does that make more power than 2-stroke?

After the latest debacle with my BR 800 I will never ever own another four mix ever. And don't forget about the plastic cam in the engine as well.

What oil is best? and what ratio?

I had the dumb idea to try to use canola as a hedge clipper lube. Over the winter it hardened so badly that I had to completely disassemble the two blades and clean them with kerosene before I could get it running again.

Which one of these do you prefer? When I get a chance I will show all the trimmer lines I have.
