    Doing some testing Sunday.

I've seen videos showing LGX to be faster than stihl RS out of the box, it does look to be sharpened better at the factory. After one sharpening they're equal tho so it's not a big deal if one is a hair faster than the other out of the box.

Dominant V4 Piston for the 372

If I had that piston I'd grind/file a notch into the top of the piston like the one by the exhaust port beside the transfers to get the blow down in the 20 degree range. This would give ported saw like port timing without grinding on the cylinder. I ground the top of the piston by the transfers...

    JonCutter thread...

It does. It also has a rim sprocket so you can switch easily. Huztl specs a 20 inch 3/8 bar and chain for the 5800. I think its much better with a 16 inch .325 like most 50cc saws are. I put a stihl ms250 3/8lp bar on mine with the stock 3/8 rim sprocket for a bit. This set up is probley the...

    Part Seven: Carburation

My ported big carbed (372 carb on a 54cc saw) joncutter 5800 china saw hates being a tiny bit rich. I tried to turn it down a to 14000rpm so it wouldn't be lean if I was cutting on a cold day but it was slow as hell and wouldn't stop 4 stroking in the cut unless you stood on it, so I turned it...

    Cheap saw build off interest?

I ported a 38cc plastic homelite, it was a lot faster afterwards. The oiler quit shortly after porting it tho, it still runs fine but wont cut for long lol. This was the worst saw to work on by a long stretch for me so I don't want to touch it again. You could do a Chinese build off too, the...

Is running picco on a ported 261 a mistake?

I ran picco (Oregon 3/8 lp to be exact) on my Chinese 54cc saw when I got it, stock with that chain it was as fast as the modded one with .325. Then I modded it and the picco didnt load the saw at all in soft wood, you could stand on it and it wouldn't slow down. I could've dropped the rakers...

Has anyone bought a Joncutter saw from hudzl

I ran 40-1 in mine too, it was fine. I run 32-1 because that's what the dirt bike gets and I only mix one jug of gas up at a time. I also use cheap lucas semi syn oil, I know its not the best oil going but it works totally fine in the bike and saws.

    Damaged cylinder plating question

Since its a personal saw I'd add a bridge port to see how it runs like so as long as the end of the rings wont catch it.

Has anyone bought a Joncutter saw from hudzl

My Chinese saws get 32-1 and are turned up to 15000rpm with big carbs and porting. They haven't blown up yet, I think the 25-1 is for countries without proper mixing oil, it specs 30wt oil for mixing oil just like they used in the 70's lol.

Has anyone bought a Joncutter saw from hudzl

The joncutter saws wont pass any emissions test but they have chain brakes so they're as safe as any saw. They spec 25-1 premix, don't have cats or spark arresters in the mufflers and have easy to adjust carbs, all the things the epa hates lol. I think my neighbor's is going to buy one after...

    Ultimate "Firewood" Saw

Most of the firewood in my area barely needs split to fit in a wood stove, so the ultimate firewood saw around here is 50-60cc, fast in small wood and capable of cutting 20 inch trees once in a while. My cheapy ported joncutter 5800 suits what I do.

    Joncutter G2500 question.

I have the same saw with different plastics. Don't do a muffler mod, I drilled the baffle out with a drill bit that fit in the outlet, it does run a hair better but is too loud. I have a bar for a poulan 3314 on mine, it fits great and didn't need any mods to keep it from moving up or down. I...

bigger carburetor for chinese chainsaw / Komatsu Zenoah clone

The quad port 58 is better yet imo. The 52 I had isn't even close to the 58 quad port. The quad port 58 I have (joncutter 5800) had 175psi and .045tho squish with a base gasket, I never checked it after removing the base gasket but its pretty quick with the big carb/intake upgrade. It does not...

    K095 oil hole

I have the newer speed cut and versa cut ko95 mount bars on my saws, they have smaller slotted oil holes and don't seam to plug up like the older bars with round oil holes did.

bigger carburetor for chinese chainsaw / Komatsu Zenoah clone

I should have worded it differently, get the 45.2mm cylinder with dual ports per side for your 58, it runs better then the cylinder with 1 port per side. If they were cheaper the 48mm 62cc cylinder would be good to try too but they're not as common and a bunch more money than the dirt cheap...

bigger carburetor for chinese chainsaw / Komatsu Zenoah clone

That looks like the 52cc cylinder, the 58 should have dividers in the transfers. If your going to hop it up get the one with quad transfers, they're 20 bucks and run better. My timberpro 62 takes 8-10 pulls after sitting to start cold with no primer on it now. The easy pull starter doesn't turn...

bigger carburetor for chinese chainsaw / Komatsu Zenoah clone

Your bang on the money, the transfers are quite small on the 48mm bore 62, they're quad port like the 58. I actually hogged out the divider in the transfers to gain volume in the 62 making it a normal dual port not a quad, it gained 500 rpm in the cut doing so, I'd only do that to the 62 tho. I...

bigger carburetor for chinese chainsaw / Komatsu Zenoah clone

Is that a 58? I like my 58 the best, technically the 62 timberpro is a little faster in big wood but the 58 out revs it in small to medium stuff which is what I cut the most. I may have goofed up a little porting the 62 and did a better job on the 58, I didn't degree them.

Someone mentioned a square body thread somewhere

I always liked these trucks. I learned how to drive in a 86 4.3 4 barrel 3 on the tree. The original owner custom ordered it that way, I thought it was an automatic until I seen the clutch pedal lol.

bigger carburetor for chinese chainsaw / Komatsu Zenoah clone

Seeing how they have a carb and intake fit for a 40cc saw putting the right sized one on really helps. The carb/intake on my 25cc Chinese top handle is almost the same size as what's on these lol.
