I tried the shoe laces and no joy.
Puller plate works for me. Some torque, some tapping and some more torque and it’s off....

Did you get a look at the gasket on the jug. If it was rebuilt at some point the gasket could be covering the impulse transfer.

Bought this one and started the clean up before I began seeing differences. The attached thread explains it well....
That’s a part of the process I enjoy, cleaning’m up. Makes re-assembly so much easier. And that’s when I find what also needs to be replaced.
I think the clutch cover may become an issue.
I’d like to try to re arrange the studs, maybe get the tensioner for that case and keep moving...
