Anyone know if a Stihl Durocut 20-2 trimmer head will fit on a Husky 322L trimmer?

I am fighting bunch grass that shreds .095 and .105 line like nothing

A friend has an old fixed line head running .130 line and it lasts way longer so that's what I am trying to duplicate

Thanks in advance

I appreciate the input but unfortunately next to every clump of bunchgrass is a lava rock or 3

Nobody here uses blades except in situations where there is established landscaping

My property is thinly scraped over dolomite and volcanic rock, red dirt, bunch grass, and Kiawe/Mesquite trees

I am just trying to knock down the grass until we can get started on permanent landscaping

Thanks

Yikes! Yep, you would tear up a blade pretty quick.

Have you tried Oregon gatorline magnum? I use that if i cant get a blade in there. Holds up real well.

No, I haven't tried that line

I ran a 250' spool of each of the following: Husky Titanium Force, Desert Cyclone, ACE Hardware/Arnold Professional Extreme

All was soaked in water for at least 48 hours prior to running

The ACE/Arnold lasted the longest but even that was quickly destroyed

My friend has an ancient trimmer and as I said has a 2 line head that holds up to .130

He runs plain black Stihl round in .130 and just cuts and cuts while I am changing line

Frustrating

I have an Echo SRM-225 in Alaska and can take on some pretty mean raspberries, etc and .095 line holds up decently

Here in Hawaii in my application it's worthless

I have seen a couple of other "push in" type heads that will take .130 line

They are universal and I know they will fit

I just figured the Stihl head might be better/stronger/etc

Sorry for the long rant and thanks for listening

The husqvarna tiatanium line sucks! Try some gatorline magnum. Its comes in square or round. The square is more agressive cutting. Has an outer jacket around a very hard almost steel core that holds up very well for stemmy woody grasses and brush. I use 095 with good results. 105 would probably make you happy. Get you some! :D

I am fairly certain 20-2 will not fit due that it is for a 8mm setup and the Husky is a 10mm setup.

Well I kind of figured it would be proprietary to Stihl

The universal ones all look oversized with a multitude of adapters, sleeves, nuts, etc

It might be as simple as boring the I.D. of the Stihl head but not sure I want to mess with that

Thanks

Well it took a while but I finally got some .105 square magnum gator line

This stuff ROCKS

I gave it a good soak and spooled up 15’

It barely fit and I KNEW it was never going to feed out of that piece of crap Hooski head...

But it did and as easily as any line I have tried

And boy is it tough

Wicked tough

I sooooo appreciate the tip on this line

I do need to mod my muffler now because this 322 L will barely spin a full span of this line but it needed it anyway

thanks again
