Hello

Jeff @jk14 brought to my attention that his gift did not yet arrive.
I checked the other tracking numbers and there is at least one more that did not get any tracking updates since "Insert item into bag" which indicates that the packages made it onto a plane to the US.

I assure the affected recipients that their gifts got shipped!
Unfortunately there appears to be a lack of status updates from USPS as well as a severe package processing and shipping delay by USPS on the US side - I guess this could be due to the holidays.

I hereby ask for patience regarding delivery, but also make a promise that affected parties will receive their gift.

Any box/gift lost in shipping will be resent!

My apologies for the delay, it is truly out of my hands though.
Thank You for Your understanding and patience!

P.S.:
Attached are two tracking statuses from the Croatian Post web pages, You can see that both tracked packages made it to the Croatian airport within 2 and 4 days, with the 4 day shipping time having been delayed by New Year which is a holiday.

This is how a tracking status of a delivered package looks like.
If You look closely You will notice that this package got shipped the same day as one of the above shipments.

Although, this may be a different scenario. I sent a package from the UK to Cat 525 in Kansas on the 29th Nov... it should have taken 7/10 days. I know it was holidays & stuffs..
we exchange a few pms. Over the wks... me asking if he got it... him asking if he could track it... me saying. Silly me... no I did not get it tracked... but hopefully it’s still in Santa’s sack..and give it another week.. if not I will send another
anyhow a few days later it arrived... and the date it arrived was 3rd Jan

This is hopefully some reassurance for guys still waiting...;)

The Croatian Post office service was worsening throughout 2016 till about mid 2019.
It got so bad that even tiny small packages did not got delivered but had to be picked up at the local post office, premium payed big boxes didn't get delivered to the recipients doorstep either.
They also kept charging a "delivery fee" which turned out to be illegal.
Eventually enough customers complained and the post office made it into the TV.
They apparently got a slap in their face and have been advised to do their job.

I have received numerous recent packages, tiny, small and big, all to my doorstep, without delays, without mysterious additional fees.

I do strictly tracked shipping!
I think of it as cheap enough insurance for both parties.

I am certain an untracked package is much more prone to get "lost" in shipping than a tracked one.
Lets be honest, pretty much every "lost" parcel is either a post office employee treating him/herself to a free gift or a recipient taking advantage of the sender - a tracked parcel may not but can prevent that.

Yes, that I can agree with you,,, it is a bit risky,,, but if the package is small and worth less than $10, is it worth the risk of the sender, or the postal worker and his job if !!! or the receiver ? And we are talking honest friends here... not buy from amazon and leaving on your door step  That’s also assuming it does or don’t fit it a mail/letter box..

In your case, your value is more,, my case $10\15 ahh ok if it got lost next time track it.

I don’t send lots so I take a chance now and again,,, but if I got burnt a few times then I guess I’d go your way..;).

Here is my personal opinion based off of my experiences. USPS suckssss!! I can’t stand them. Our rural carrier doesn’t care at all and some days she won’t even show up. They don’t care at the local office either. She will mark packages as unable to access for delivery when all she does is throw them out the window anyways. She just marks that instead of driving down our road. Anyways that’s a whole another story but I saw what some were going through and it flared up my distaste for usps.

Here is my thought on the whole postal situation

Do you walk into a restaurant, sit down, order a meal, and have to pay for it up front?

Then sit and wait and hope it comes out?

And then if it doesn't come out are you told "sorry, you paid us to do our job but you didn't pay extra for INSURANCE so tough *s-word it's not our problem"?

We PAY FOR A SERVICE UP FRONT with zero recourse unless you pay extra...

Sorry, obviously this has been weighing on me for quite a while

Rant off...

I also take into account that my parcels tend to travel a little longer, as such I box up even the lowest of value content and I mostly keep the boxes decently sized with lots of cushioning material - if it moves inside the box it's not packed well.

So far I sent only one parcel in a fairly small box and one in a bubble wrap envelope - I am happy to say both arrived at their destination.

I can not choose who will deliver a parcel on the US side!
USPS is the contract partner of the Croatian Post office.

Alternative delivery services have proven to have hidden delivery complications (additional paperwork) and hidden fees.
They are a no guarantees gamble at best.

The Croatian Post office has "Premium" options that are being charged additionally, but paying for them does not guarantee You any better service!
Go figure.

I can ship "small packages" (under 5lbs) untracked, but I feel it is not worth the 2-3$ saved (I don't remember exactly how much it is, but it is in that range).

The post office has indeed a nice gig going, getting payed beforehand and then getting the job done as they see fit - if that!

Lots of stuff I've ordered in the last month have been terribly late or haven't shown up yet. Tracking as been hit and miss also.

There's a reason I take off for a few weeks around Christmas.

Yeah I hate ordering stuff around that time of year but you'd expect ordering from a knife material supply warehouse in Oklahoma it would be faster than 3 weeks even around Christmas. But it is best to avoid it all together if possible.

One of my customers mailed me a check on the 23rd of December, I just got it Monday.

If I didn't know better I would say we had the same post office, same rural contract carrier, and same sorry excuse for a postmaster that won't hold anyone to any kind of standard
