Hi all that take/waste the time to read this, or fingers crossed even reply.
I'm currently toying with the idea/possibilities of sending a saw to the USA from Australia.
I was wondering if any saw porters here have done work on saws from Aus before? or if postage 2 ways would make it ridiculously expensive.
No I havn't contacted any courier/post companies yet, hoping someone might know something.

Better off buying saw from/through a builder & having it only shipped one way. Saws are cheaper in the states so it can make a lot more sense.

If I was in the market for a spanker that would definitely be the road I'd go down, but unfortunately I'm not right now.

Have you considered having a new cylinder ported and shipped to you? Depending on the saw it can be very cost effective.

No I had never considered that. The case/bottom end wouldn't be needed to get numbers or are they more or less all the same?

It has been done before, I can’t remember who it was, but I vaguely remember, the builder asked for some details, and then proceeded, fittment and checking of squish has to be carefully done..

It may have been @Mastermind iirc..for brewz.??

Tony aka @Brewz .. is not on here as much as he was... so it’s a long shot if he was to reply

More or less the same. I would just make the squish a few thousandths bigger to compensate for any differences. It's done more frequently than one would think.

I used to do a lot of them. It’s not too hard to do. Some series of saws are more consistent than others. You can get squish on your stuff and then pull it apart and send it out that way as well. It’s nice to know what the squish is in the saw you have you’re wanting it done on to get a comparison on the builder case.
