Anything over 79.9cc falls into a different EPA category. I believe Stihl will be the only manufacture to spend the money for that category. But it will raise prices for saws in that category.

The end of gas powered saws is getting closer than most realize.

Are they gonna take away my 125s and 166s?

I would like to see an 85-88cc and a 100cc, why have direct cc competition in a cc class IMHO! Wouldn’t a super light 599 or 5100xp be nice, an update and lighter big bore 395 would be awesome, they could even go 111cc and not have any competition

They want everything to go electric...cool and all but now you’re in the woods and batteries dropping like flies. Oh just go fire up the generator and charge them [emoji19]. I would like to see the battery saws to replace large gas saws, wonder what they’ll look like.

The way husqvarna has been going it wouldn’t be surprising for them to drop larger saws. They’ve got so many irons in different fires they probably want to focus on what sells most. Just my thoughts but I’m not in the know like most y’all.

That would be like taking all pre epa diesel off the road, that’s going to take a lot! Or 74 and older cars

The stuff they are talking about is 2007 would be the cut off for diesel if it’s older for on/off highway applications wouldn’t be allowed.

That’s a lot of trucks to get rid of, I can’t see them getting rid or 07 and older truck, without a big fight, I have heard of them taking about it, but reality is they would have to buy them back, or people will loss it!! I don’t have an old diesel but I would make them buy it or I would fight to keep it!

As already mentioned, if the development costs are to high they won’t do this. A businessman who never cut wood in his life decide that, only to earn more money.

Unfortunately that is a reality of business! Business is business, but sometimes those decisions end up killing a company, that’s how McCulloch homelite and poulan ended up dying, start killing the big saw, and development and focus on the consumer market...it’s the most profitable! Haha! Mini macs and xl2’s for days! Yuck! Lol

and if development costs are too high, not the business to be in!

Either a heavy pig or out of juice in a few cuts.
Just think about how heavy those high performance EV cars are.
