We are all entitled to our own opinions. However opinions from a hobbyist, firewooder, saw porter or a logger/tree guy are all going to be different things. I always consider the source it’s coming from when I hear advice.

Exactly, I don’t run em for a living, so it doesn’t matter much. Most guys on here asking about which 60cc saw to buy isn’t a pro user.

That's a fair assessment. Some pros still run old school and it does not bother them. Wish I was one of them.

I havent had any new examples in my hands, but if this years production 562xp follows with the 550 mk2 and 572s build quality and consistency...then the 562 would be the best duty worth 60cc saw imo. And I LOVE me a 036/360/361. *f-wordin 362 is a god damned paperweight unless @Mastermind hits it with his latest recipe. The last vid I saw of him doing one, it really scooted!

I’m very interested in seeing how the mk2 562 revision comes along, I would want an xpg version for next winter. Lol

I would in the least like to see the same kind of filter system as the 550mk2/572 retrofitted.

562XP, MS362, PS-6100, All good saws that make cutting as enjoyable/productive as possible.

Dolmar 2260 & Echo CS-620 probably as well, but I have never run them.

Anyone putting any of the above saws down as rubbish is not worth listening to, and I do not mean critiquing, all saws have problems, and it is great that you can use the internet to find out about them before you purchase, or as an owner when you yourself have problems.

And of course your echo 590 or whatever smaller saw outcut your buddies ms361 easily, because you probably do what I do, sharpen that bad boy right up before going out with someone wood cutting, but please don't claim it's a more powerful saw because of that.

You see the same behaviour with all enthusiasts/hobbyists that collects/use/discuss professional level equipment, Digital cameras are EXACTLY the same, To compare and generalize, enthusiasts/hobbyists photographers argue over every tiny change/gain in image sensor technology every year, often insignificant changes, Nikon vs Canon like their lives depend on it, all the while the commercial/professional users are out there getting it done, not caring, they know what works in the real world.

Though oddly enough I have seen this behaviour go away with dirt bikes, people are often very open to changing brands every few years depending on what's being produced, the $11,000 KTM 500-exc being very popular now, taking over from the 300cc two stroke popularity.

All the beautiful Stihl 036s and Husky 262s for sale, they aren't a testament to the (great) build quality of these saws, but to how many people buy saws more expensive than they need to, even more so those lightly used 288s and 066s that someone used to prune their lemon tree once a year, must have been some good salesmen back in the day.

I know numbers aren't everything, but these are KWFs most recent tests, from the german papers, not the sometimes incorrect english translations.

Saw............Power.............Weight.........Date
562XP........3.5kW..............5.8kg............22.01.2019 <--link to test details.
MS36.........3.5kW..............5.7Kg.............16.11.2016 <--link to test details.
PS-6100.....3.4kW.............6.0Kg.............01.11.2018 <--link to test details.

None of these saws is a standout or turd, do you like a straight or angled handle? I personally like the looks of Jonsereds, some people don't care if a saws falls over easily on uneven ground, I do, it's an oversight, how's your dealer support? like a master control or seperate controls? favorite shade of orange, discount deals available to you? do you hate cleaning air filters?

Quotes like the below, yeah every stihl floods every time, especially hilarious before auto-tune saws when they all had different combo's of the same Walbro, Tilly & Zama carbs.

Mate I would use an XP series husky over a stihl any day infact most of the guys on the stihls spent most of the day trying not to flood them while I was going hard with the husky and not having any problems.

Wow, embarrassing, end rant, please ignore.

I was surprised how well my 562xp pulled a 28" bar in Ash, when my 372xp and 9010 were both down. I wouldn't make a habit of it, as the oiler is a bit stingy, but it worked pretty well. Either way, it's a personal preference. I love my MMWS 262xp and my MMWS mufflered 56xp. But, I'd run a MS360/361, Echo 590-620, or 6100 Dolmar happily. An 034 Super though, much like the 026, were fantastic saws.

Then again, an 8 pin on either my Snellerized MS660, or my MMWS 9010 are terrors in Osage Orange!

Maybe some day a 034s jug will cross my path or the whole saw. That could be handy up top. My shiny 260 got a new life in a basket with a lanyard.

One of my Wife's Bookkeeping customers own a tree business and I help Him occasionally when I have a day off. He has a brace of saws, but after the top handles, the next step up is either a Husqvarna 576xp, or a Stihl MS461. Then a pair of MS660's, then a MS880 and a 3120xp... Why he doesn't run a good 50cc for larger bucket work, I don't understand.

That’s a good question, a stout 50cc saw in the bucket is way nice to get down to the main trunk after the top handles are finished
