I'm not sure that a 390XP piston would be an option with either crank (667 or 690). They both use the 12mm wrist pin with a very thin wrist pin bearing and the 390XP piston uses a 13mm wrist pin.
Are you certain? Only reason I ask is because I had a friend measure and he said it was 12mm.

I'm not counting on needing to use one so no big deal if it is. I might need to use the rings off the 390 on the 690 piston though. Pics of the piston only look like carbon scoring so I might get lucky.

Your adapter plate would block off the lowers and just grind your own in to meet the case.
I haven't ruled it out yet. I want to see how close this 690 pot is first. The 066BB is likely headed back for refunds. The 395 is going in my parts drawer for future emergency use.

I'm pretty certain the 385/390 slugs use a 13mm wrist pin. You can use the same wrist pin bearing in the 181/281/288/385/390/394/395.

The rings aren't gonna swap either - the 390 piston uses 1.2mm thick rings, the 690 uses 1.5mm thick rings. I think there are some aftermarket
rings on ebay though that are 55 x 1.5mm.

930 jred might be an option too. Not sure of the bore diameter, but I believe it has wide cutouts like that
I have one or two dead cylinders in the shed that would be good enough for mock up. I know one is missing plating below the intake.... it's a crying shame really. [emoji3525] It may work for this build though??

The 930 also takes a 13mm pin IIRC.

You're fine JJ. I had a friend measure it to verify and idk what he measured because my research said it was 13mm but he measured something and said it was 12mm. I guess I was being optimistic. Obviously it wasn't the 390 wrist pin that he measured lol. Oh well. Likening said, I wasn't relying on using it. Thanks for the correction.

Really? That would be a huge help. PM inbound.

When your done finding out the 690 crank won't fit your case because of con rod clearance issue....please send it here. Have a plan for it. I could also use the flywheel to, please.

That piston might save your build or not. Keep at it!

Don't sweat the rings. You can lap down a set to the proper width, cut the ring land wider or file down a 56mm to 55.

I'll keep you in mind however, I have access to a mill and lathe and plan to use as needed.

Have you considered boring and replating the 667 jug?
Yes, might be limited on how large I can go. A 066BB piston is nearly identical to the 667 piston (except diameter). Just not sure the cylinder will withstand an increase of 14mm. Would probably have to stick around 50mm max. Idk.

I think you need welding or something to build up the case.

My plan was to use it in a 660 with 58mm bore. The jug is already on it but it lacks stroke to match up. 42x58 for my mill.
