Here's a 99 built jonsered 2149.
Had the plastic intake clamp, I pulled the cylinder and installed a metal clamp. While the cylinder was off I deleted the base gasket. I also advance the timing because they like it! Muffler is stock non-cat, has a newish 3/8 sprocket and a Wahlbro carb.
Hard to tell in the pictures but it does have some overspray on the top cover and front handle.
Would make a nice firewood saw.
Fired saw up this afternoon started on second pull, idled and rev'd up as it should.

Pulled the metal shield off the clutch side to fix the bar oil leak that these always have. To find corrosion! F! This saw hasn't panned out well....

I bought the saw used from Canada. I was just making a wild guess that it rode on a truck exposed to road salts and that is why the cases were corroded.
More than likely, they ‘re using a liquid brine which is even more corrosive than salt
