Preferably. There is a slight difference in low end power and the jug is Nikasil coated. If I’m to get a cylinder port styled lower end then I will put an esr top end on it.

For cost I would go with the old cases and run the trx jug, way cheaper, the 92-01 cases go for more, you can now get an esr cylinder for those. The 02-07 can run, but I wouldn’t run on for a hot saw, the power valve is a servo motor and the electrical is a mess compared to the older ones, I have some decent Cr experience, along with trx stuff, pm me if you want to chat about it, not trying to sell anything! Lol

So what year is the best to put a trx head on ?
I think the 85-86 are be best cases for the trx cylinder. 92-01 cases are great, and the esr 330 cylinder is available now, the 97-01 ignition is perfect and simple and obviously a bolt on. It’s a great way to go. Stock an 01 makes 48hp to the wheel, flywheel hp is more, a 330 esr cylinder is capable of 60hp+

If your wanting to start out 250, the 92-01 is a great platform you can mix and match the best stuff and all the cylinders are plated , and. 330 is available from esr.
I have a rare 01 Cr250/330 pro-x cylinder non powervalve149A65C9-082D-4FD2-AC61-F11445AB3746.jpeg

A buddy out of Albany had one he didn’t care for it he preferred his rotax conversion and the puma/super pumas.

my buddy is saying he is going to pull the trigger on pantera motor...linger 550, should be cool

it is counterbalanced and basically has a banshee tranny, so it can handle the power

I haven’t run one of those, I have build all of mine as dunners, thous cylinder would be interesting, they take a lot of work to run hard, but might make great dunners. I would love to try a bunch of builds, I want to try so much! There are a lot of options

I do miss my banshee days. Was one of the first In the Coos Bay Area with a set of the cheetah cub cylinders. Bought them for a 4 mil, and had Dan Hull at A&S racing port the cylinders. 6” swing arm was definitely not long enough. Had it dynotuned at 96 hp back then. Probably about 15 years ago.

Would you be willing to sell that motor or know a place I should keep my eyes on for a bottom end?
