O-rings work great for sealing a clutch drum needle bearing once you get two that fit just right. I've tried 3 different sizes of o-rings on the inside of this 261 drum before I finally got one that seals the back of the bearing perfectly. The outside o-ring I've got on there now is very close (the OD is barely too small, not perfect yet), since it still held some of the grease in the cage after 2 tanks of fuel. My metric o-rings are picked over pretty bad, so I'll get those restocked on Tuesday and swap that leaky outer one.
O-rings will last for a couple years on there easy. All I do is clean and repack the bearing with synthetic grease every 8-10 tanks or so. I'll post up the size for each o-ring needed for the 261 once I've run a few more tanks through this saw and I'm sure they are holding all of the grease in.
