One and only thing I don't like is the horrid factory trigger pull that mine had. The Ghost Edge connector restores it to the same as my 19 and 26. My 42 is a 2015 model I think so they may have improved it since then.

My local shop sells bunches of Taurus wheelguns with few complaints, they seem very nice for the money. The 82 is not a small gun, it's as big or bigger than most .357's. That said, I had one for awhile and it's a great shooter. The Armscor/Rock Island revolvers are similar to, but not a copy of, late model Colt D-frames such as the Detective Special. They do use the same grips and holsters, which is nice. I've never owned one but never really read anything bad about them and quite a few places here sell them.

The late model Rossi 461/462 is a great piece for the money. I have a 461 with 3" barrel in .357 and it is a very nice little sixgun, just as accurate as my Ruger Service Six and S&W 10-5.

My Taurus 608 .357 has been flawless in somewhere between 3-5K rounds. It's fairly accurate and has been fed mostly lead. It doesn't have a Smith quality trigger, nor Colt level bluing or action-timing, but it's been perfectly reliable and accurate out past 200 yds. I'd spend that money again in a heartbeat.

I looked at an RIA 4" M200 at my LGS. It was rough externally but had a smooth action and good SA trigger. The grips looked like they'd been carved out of a 2x4, by a kid in shop class. I told a friend who was looking for a cheap .38 revolver about it. He bought it.
It's a shooter. More accurate than it should be and very enjoyable to shoot. An excellent gun for the money. I was surprised and impressed.

Glock 43 is my everyday carry, but I have others that I carry once in awhile.

I held a Glock 48 today at my LGS. I will still likely buy the Walther CCP, but I really liked the feel of the 48. The thinner grip lays out better in my hand, and my hands aren't small, but the corner on the 17/19/22/23 all catch just past the first joint of my thumb, IF I don't consciously and deliberately wrap my hand around the back-strap to avoid that problem. It makes firing the weapon abusive to the joint, especially when your hands are cold. I also got to hold the new Springfield Hellcat an the P365 SAS. A lot of good options out there in a subcompact to mid-size 9mm.

I gre up on the .45ACP and .45 Colt, and own a .40 Sig, but a smaller 9 would be ok.

Well, I just layawayed a stainless Taurus 856 .38 today. The fun store has them on special for $240.00 right now and I've been wanting one for a long time now. This is the steel frame version which has some weight to it, hopefully it will like the same loads i feed my S&W 10-5 and Ruger Service Six.

I'm interested to hear your thoughts when you get it. I am intrigued by the 856. I have a stainless Taurus 380acp revolver that would like a big brother. ;)

Well not an actual conceal carry unless I'm wearing a coat lol. Redhawk alaskan 2.5 inch 454 casull. That's big, dangerous game backup cause we gots grizz here in my back yard. View attachment 215271
How well do you like that, and what's the difference in the felt recoil between the various .45 LC loading's and 454? A good friend had the 44 Alaskan, and we both loved it dearly. We called her baby, as she was sweet to operate. Unfortunately, it magically came up missing, shortly after he went on full-time hospice care. It was supposed to be bequeathed to me... I wondered what the difference would be between the .44RM and the .454...

There is quite a difference between full house 44 mag loads and 454 casull. I prefer the 45 cal because long colt ammo is easier to get that shooting the 44 special in a 44 mag.
I dont shoot that hand cannon much, especially with full bore 360 grain hard cast at 1300 fps with a 2.5 inch bbl. It's actually really hard on the ears. I put down a deer last year with it and my ears still ring!
I really like the chest rig, even use it when sawing sometimes when I have to clear trails on foot for miles in grizz, cougar, wolf and moose infested forests

I wondered, given the Casull's operating pressure, and pressure spike. I think I'd rather have it in either .44 or .480, unless I was gong to do you like you do and usually run .45 Colt. Given that I handload, the cowboy action loads will get the point across, but the 2nd loading tier (Ruger/Freedom Arms/Magnum Research) Colt loads are where that cartridge comes alive. I could be wrong, but I don't think that the Casull would be fun out of less than an 8" barrel, and then either in a Bisley Grip Frame, or a Super Redhawk. Someday I'll have to test that theory.

I wanted a 480 ruger at the time I bought the 454 casull. But of course, none were available, and 44mags were like trying to find hens teeth. I've actually owned a 44 mag version and liked it but sold that one due to rough times.. this 454 is most useful in a tent camping in the wild. Had a few bear over the years try to enter my sleeping area and a rifle is too bulky to swing around in a 2 man tent. I have installed one of those glow tritium front sights on it, so it's all set up for personal protection, including a speed loader and sighted in dead on at five yards

I played with the .480 in an 8 and 3/8 barreled SRH. It was a handful, but manageable, and it was quite accurate. Almost like a VERY stout black powder. Judging by it though, a .475 Linebaugh, or .500 Linebaugh may be more than I want to tangle with. I will be trying the .460 Smith soon, courtesy of a buddy, but it's a 10"+ barreled performance center model. That in a 5" model would make for profound critter protection.
