had a ms 461 come in that blew the spark plug out. bought this kit for the shop. i already have the 10mm kits and ive used it several time. really like the time serts kits . i had a sav a thread kit that im give away to the first person that wants it

Well the initial cost is probably prohibited for the smaller shops. Personally I know it is for my shop; unless, I several repair of these repairs each year. Even on the 10mm I have only seen one stripped spark hole in the last 5 yrs. But I can see why your shop did buy one considering the cost the Stihl MS 461 cylinder kit. It only takes doing a few to justify the cost.

Try the Napa Save a thread kit. Ive had good luck with that.

I have too.
Here's the one I did on a Kohler, it's for my exmark, I think she has almost 2300 hrs now.
I've never used one on a saw.

I have used dozens on hemi engines when they blow the plugs out of the head when the ‘mix’ is a little to high.
I used them in aluminum when high tension fastening is/was required.

Never had one fail.

I even have used them on old Schwin cranks
