The best? The tool made for the job, pullers and knockers. They both usually require a rap with a hammer. My "secret" is to use an Estwing metal handled hammer. This transmits a good shock with a light blow, the "ping" of the Estwing gets things to reverbaltating and off it will come easy as you please.

Good deal !!!!!!

Good to see you posting John.
As you know I’ve always been pretty loyal to AS, as that is where I got my start in 2001. And I find it’s hard to be on all the other forums, but this place seems to flow with a good sense of humour which is the most important thing.
Anyway, enough with the grab ass, I bought a 20” brainsaw today! I think its a Skill 261 sea em are tick or something like that. Maybe I should have bought a Muckaluck. I’ll post some pictures tomorrow when it’s not so dark.

Well again if you have the means and a degree of ingenuity you can make a lot of better options than a pry bar and a ball peen hammer against a hard wood block .Some will ,some won't ,some can ,some can't .--and that is not for me to say .It appears to me over the years the manufactures have worked over time trying to make things nearly impossible to work on .They haven't yet nor will they ever be able to get-er-done .Ya just have to out fox the fox .
