It’s gonna be a lot more work to port the China saw over an oem. Everything needs to be double checked, and many parts would need to be replaced for reliability.

I’ve never been in a 372, but I’d say to find an oem crank and top end at a minimum. That way whatever money you spend will at least last you. You’ll have a good foundation.

Not sure people would want their name on something that’s a total POS as well.

Completely get what your after and you need to video the event when it happens. I think it’s hysterical.

I’d ask @huskihl to stick his sausage in it.

I've got a Chinese 365 saw converted into a ported 77cc big bore. With a MM and a modded Zama twin jet, it flat hauls the freight. 24" bar with an 8 pin in Ozzie hardwood and 6 degrees cutting angle on the chain.

I've been using it for bucking up big wood for more than 9 years, it is still going strong. I definitely recommend the OEM wrist pin bearing, then bits and pieces as the saw needs them (hoses, filters, etc.)

Yeah, I'd rather have a genuine Husky to mod, but for the cost of this POS, it is WELL worth the cost. An equivalent saw would cost more than A$2,000 - I built this for around A$500.

Just flush oil through the engine and run it.

A bloke that owned a saw mill decided to run my saw against his 365 - it wasn't even a contest, my Chinese POS blew him away. I felt so bad that I re-built his saw to my specifications. He now runs the saw with a big grin on his face. I gave him his 65cc open port cylinder back, but I don't think he will ever use it.

That’s the only Chinese saw I’ve ever done. The owner (not on the forums) was made aware that he should look for an oem cylinder at a minimum but refused. No warranties expressed, written, or implied lol.

No one gave me advice , we all were discussing the saws and everybody wanted to try 1 just out of curiosity you know kinda for shots and giggles . But I happened to be the only 1 who actually stepped up and got 1 . Then they ragged on me lol .kinda like hunters do when a buddy misses . We cut the tail of their shirt off . They take the walk of shame ya know . So now it's my turn to give it back . That's the way we are , we joke around , and prank each other . It seems to be better than acting like prudes ya know
I like my pieces of *s-word china saws the saw elitist call them.
I've been running them a few year's now.
They've paid for themselves in all the timber and firewood I've cut
Have about 250.00-300.00 or so in each one.
Friends are running some of them now.
Have 7 one huztl the rest a different china manufacturer cases and tanks are different castings than huztl.
the strongest are a couple of
Ported zoo city 372 hi tops with oem cylinder kits everything else is chinese.
I run pop up 268 and 272 pistons with the china cylinders in some to get the comp up into the 180s
They run very well but the new hyway bb popup kits
With a good muff mod is the way to go.
The saws are not perfect the fuel and pulse line's
Were trash they failed after a few month's
I swapped out for oem echo lines.
And occasionally i had to swap out a brake flag spring some were too weak.
And tripped at idle.
One kill switch broke otherwise
I've ran the piss out of them.

I don't see why not if it's a mutal understanding that it's basically done as a prank . Geez does no one have a sense of humor anymore

I was kidding mostly, but as Al points out, a builder is risking their reputation when they take on something questionable and those Hozzlforma kits have always been a crap shoot. One guy has great luck
with them, the next guy ends up with an absolute turd. We had a few of the early ones (365s) come through the the dealership I was working at and the fit and finish on them was terrible. The two I worked on
had maybe three hours on them and were already failing. We didn't charge the customers and we told them not to bring them back.

Yes I understand that a builder would be risking their reputation , but that statement can go 2 ways ! If the builder takes their time , catches flaw and is able to correct those flaws and the saw turns out to be a scorcher ..... Then look at the boost it will do to said builder ! Ppl will be like , if that builder could get those results from a less than desirable source then just what could they do with top notch best of quality parts . Idk about anyone else here , but that's what I look for in any service I have rendered ! I want the guy who takes the risk and isn't afraid to attempt what others say can't be done ! I mean isn't that what saw mods or any mod from stock is about ? If I wanted the sure bet or safest way , then hell I'd show up to the woods every day with glasses , ear plugs , cheek chillers (chaps) and a cute Lil mount me hat along with the safest saw made along with1 of them there bent drag sissy chains , or better yet I wouldn't even be a logger ! Last time I looked I was a LOGGER - 1 of risk , hard work , integrity , grit and courage !

I don't know, I thought there was a rebuilt modified 880 (Mike's), and a 088/084 that I can't remember if it was modified.

Thats odd ? I recently got a G372XP and didn't really notice a difference in build quality with the Husqvarna equivalent?...oh except the bolts weren't loose.:risas3:

I just gave my Chinese saw to the Fire Brigade. They had one 357, but nothing for the bigger wood that could block a track.

The modded 365 (77cc) with the modded Zama and the 24" bar works quite well. I went through it before giving it to them and all it needed was a few worn parts in the oiling system. I've gotten too old to cut big wood anymore, so giving it to them seemed appropriate. It will probably last another 12 years if they take reasonable care of it and not straight gas it.

So Huskyrunner76 how did this all turn out .
I would have just bought a new stihl chainsaw ported that and kick their butts that would have really pissed them off .
