Trees you've cut

Elm died last summer, finally got around to taking care of it. My wife felt the crash in the house.

I remember when my Aunt's farm used to have some huge Elms … all died a long time ago. I was still a teen ager, but I remember the cut one down and the round was as high as my chest. I also remember when I was bow hunting there in the early 80, I was gawking at one that was taller than any of the Sugar Maples in the woods … I took a large buck right near it (so it became a land mark to me). Unfortunately, it died the next year.

If it takes a year for a bow shot buck to die, that might be a hint you should go to the rifle next time.

Mostly cut with a Stihl 661. Please ignore out-of-lead trees. Most were the result of snow damage from last year and/or gravity, lol.

Took down 8 trees in a front yard yesterday; 3 birches, 3 oaks and 2 pines. The oak in the picture was the biggest, didn't measure it but it was probably 3 foot on the stump and less than 100 years old. Had to take quite a bit of weight off the back side before we could winch it over. My buddy did the climbing.
