I remember when my Aunt's farm used to have some huge Elms … all died a long time ago. I was still a teen ager, but I remember the cut one down and the round was as high as my chest. I also remember when I was bow hunting there in the early 80, I was gawking at one that was taller than any of the Sugar Maples in the woods … I took a large buck right near it (so it became a land mark to me). Unfortunately, it died the next year.
Maybe that's what it died from the next yr lol.If it takes a year for a bow shot buck to die, that might be a hint you should go to the rifle next time.
