Do they fit into the discussion set here?

Been running a couple of "clones" and have had mixed results. Curious if there is enough folks doing similar things where we see trends. First is the tank handles on the Holzfforma 372xp & xt. I have one that has a "sticky" throttle...like cruise control for chainsaws. Not a good thing. Also the chain adjustment screw on one got all sticky like with the 660's in the beginning.

And for a surprise to me, the XT version, after debug; seems to run better than the XP version...who would have thought. Wonder if this is the "Sample of one" scenario or a trend.

( Running better = starts easy, idles well, decent power, restarts with one pull warm, and responds to carburetor adjustment screws )

(Debug=different gas tank/handle, OEM chain adjuster, actual Bosch spark plug, and cutting the spark plug wire so it's not pushed into the cylinder fins )

We are doing the same kind of things out here. I have 7 versions of the huztl 372 some were purchased complete others are saw kits. I’m redoing a Jonsered 2071 looking for a starter plastic housing broken. This hobby is getting really popular and gets expensive.

The 372 xt I bought last. Had to debug, rim sprocket was bent right out of the box. Chain would seize when turned by hand. Good thing we didn’t run it before replacing that part. The holsforma g272 throttle only opens half right from start handle is going to have to be replaced.

See how dry internals. My friend says he is running 40 to 1. I don’t believe him, looking more like 50 to 1. I had the talk with him about the oil mix. he is running a joncutter 5800 in his mix and loves it This saw has tons of hours on it. As you can see in one picture what failed. Did a base gasket delete, replaced o ring on crank and decomp all failed on pressure test. He said saw was down on power. I’m surprised it ran at all. We will run it some more. I have a new jug and piston set aside. This is a 1997 model it’s survived the test of time. Bottom end is solid.

I've got 2 out. Both as kits. Only issue is one I didnt tighten down the flywheel nut all the way. That's only on me. Base gasket delete in both. Transfer flanges on both brought down and intake and exhaust both enlarged a bit. NGK sparkplug too. Both run great. Both customers happy. That's my samples. Add data to pile!

Edit:

Both also have the big bore kit and pop up too and a muffler mod.

On the saw that has the hanging throttle, we have a g372xp that did the same thing, and I trimmed the jacket on the throttle cable about an eighth inch, seemed to take care of it for me

I have had good luck with mine. Mine also has the sticky throttle issue that disappears when warmed up. Kind of works like an old quadrajet with an electric choke.
Initial debugging included an idle passage that was not drilled and something needed attention on the oiler. I used only the supplied parts from the kit to build the complete saw short of a couple of missing screws.

On the g372 we have the idle is way high till it warms up also but goes away when warm, the colder it is out the higher it idles. runs starts and restarts great though we got it about a year and bucked on the landing every day about a tank of gas, all it's needed is the Fuel line broke

Investigated mine a little further and found that my timing changes from initial startup til warm. That may be causing the high idle issue? Also found that my spark actually retards at higher rpm's. Currently looking for a replacement coil.

Well funny I'm thinking about getting a g372xp the blue one I've built a lot of clone Stihls put a lot of OEM parts n them to make them right plus port work I sold every saw I owned including my Stihl 064 now I'm regretting it because we are back to heating the house with the wood stove I need a saw and if I get the 372xp clone it will be getting a good tear down and port work so the more info you guys can post on these g372xp I'd appreciate it. Fyi I'm still above ground.:beer-toast1:

Been seeing alot of module failure's on the aftermarket 372's. Don't know why, cause I haven't seen a failed one until last month, then all of a sudden guys with those saws are loosing spark. Local shop sold like 35 or 40 modules in the last month alone
