When I was in Colombia a few years ago I noticed the same.
Entire houses where every timber was cut with a chainsaw.

If you think about it it’s brilliant.
There’s definitely no electricity run to that dudes building site.

On top of that, he’s running an 070
Not a lite saw by any stretch of the imagination.

And treating it like a toy

I love it and yeah am really impressed.
Nice find man

You have to be "spot on" with the throttle and forward pressure using the top 1/4 of the tip like that along with both hands on the back handle !!

He's got skill to cut such straight boards steering the saw holding only the rear handle and not what you would call a light saw!
Hardnose bar as well, would be good to see his chain for ripping like that he knows what he's doing.

This would be hard work! hole logs going through as well who needs a break down saw!
The band saw bench doesn't even have trolleys a hob or rollers! but they are cutting short lengths I guess.
These two are guns at cutting timber the old fashioned way using man power impressive speed bet they could keep that up for an 8hr day.
Trolleys help the Bench man and Tailor out move around what they are cutting the longer the timber lengths get the harder it is to move the timber around without trolleys.

If you cut to the chase using a chainsaw to cut lumber from a log is one hellva lot of work .Very labor intensive to say the least

Yes it is a lot of work and not every one in the world is as filthy rich as the people in north America who can just go out and buy a band saw mill.
Shoot i live in North American and can't run out and buy a band saw mill even a cheap Habor freight one.

I make do with my 20 OAL inch DIY mill on a chain saw. But I also am not needing enogh lumber to build a house either.

Our ancestors (not long ago) worked hard and probably smarter, thats how western civilization was built... Dont want to put 3rd worlders down but I know plenty of people in their 50th with worn out bodies working 12 hours a day to pay mortgages and taxes to feed the themself and everyone else living off welfare, and their numbers are growing.
Lets give them a HUGE thank you!

Sooo back to milling...

Now don't get me wrong because I've milled with a Mac 125 but never the less it's a lot of work .

It’s impressive that a 60 year old chainsaw design still cut so much wood in the world. Everywhere in the jungle around the world u will find Stihl 070

That super more"modern " mill is just a modern version of the type they used over 100 years ago using steam power in the PNW .Here in the midwest it was just done with circle saws but the end results were the same--usable lumber .It just took longer .
