So I told him good saws and bars for the main crew and if he’s hiring a lot of temporary job to job help buy a couple mid size name brand farm/ranch saws for those people until they prove themselves.

Cheap tool economy is always confusing to me. I see Harbor Freight tools all over well / pump jobs and farms. Every time it seems like the job is help up by a broken ratchet, malfunctioning air tool, or over-heated compressor. Over and over.

In the situation you describe, Echo 490 and 590 seem like perfect matches for these temp employees. I like tools like this for crews: high quality, durable, and presentable in front of customers, with a low replacement cost.

In my opinion you look at more professional and I’ll take you more serious if you pull out name brand equipment even if it isn’t the best they make vs a China knock off. In fact if some were to come and bid a tree for me and he wanted say 1000-1200$ and he pulled holzforma saws out of the truck I’d have a hard time taking him seriously. Lots of smaller outfits are starting with mid level husky and stihls. No echo dealer around close plus I’ve seen tree guys take down plenty of trees with a 193t, ms 250 and 290 combo. Or the cheaper husky like a 345/350 and a 460 rancher.

I don't buy but one cheap 35cc saw.
You should just tell them to keep their dick beaters off the pro tools. They can carry firewood and drag brush.

You get one saw tests.....takes ten minutes most times or less. It goes two ways. "I can run a saw" that lasts a minute or two, maybe....then you carry wood. Second scenario is, "That tools looks dangerous....don't think I want to run it". Me, "then you drag brush and carry wood." Them, "I'll be extra careful. When do we start?". That literally takes ten minutes to start bucking. I always get more questions shortly after the saw runs out of fuel. YMMV
Oh btw....that happens one in maybe twenty times. Those guys always move up and then move on.

A guy I worked for once put a 36" semi skip on his 290 to block a big hackberry into hand loadable chunks. I wasn't there to see it, but I knew it would take hours. I think I was sleeping that day since I removed the top of that tree off the house in the middle of the night. Otherwise I'd have been there with my 32" 2188. I also knew a guy who cut down some huge 2-3ft cottonwoods with only a 200t

200T is a special saw. Every time I use mine, I am glad to have it. I’ve been under-gunned with it before and it just keeps on fighting.

The new Cannon DuraLite SuperBaris actually made from a virtually completed SuperBar. After the bar has been grooved and the rails have been flame hardened we eliminate weight by milling out pockets on either side of the SuperBarleaving a steel core in the center for strength. The center section is then perforated with holes. This method of construction is based on the same principal that you would see in an I-beam. We then use a special adhesive which not only bonds the steel to two flexible aluminum inserts, one on each side of the bar, but also creates a chemical bond or weld between the two inserts. The new DuraLite SuperBarremains ridged and stiff, has the same quality characteristics as the traditionalSuperBar, but weighs about 20% less.

It is very important to us to ensure that any lightweight bar we release performs better than all of the current lightweight bars on the market and we believe that we have accomplished this. We have had various styles of lightweight bars tested in areas of British Columbia, Washington, Oregon, and California since 2018, and after extremely positive feedback we have settled on a design and will start manufacturing the DuraLiteSuperBar as soon as possible. There will be more specs and information released within the next month.

We have started taking booking orders for the DuraLite Bar. Deliveries are expected to start in Fall 2019. If you wish to order any please fill out the attached PDF and send it back toinfo@cannonbar.com. Please do not hesitate on this, as orders will be on a first come, first serve basis. At this time we will only be making the DuraLite bars in the S1 (Stihl mount), so you will need to order adaptor plates if your customers will be using these bars on other saws.

twice as much as a stihl bar. And at 20% weight savings its still 1 pound heavier than a stihl light in a 36”

Those prices I can't justify buying one I'll stick with the Stihl and Oregon bars I can get a better price on those.

I got 2 brand new Stihl light bars, 36” for $94 each on eBay around Christmas time. I am sure it’s a good product and will outlast the Stihl, but at that price...

A 42” bar these days will he used on a hot 395 or 661R.
I’ve got this one:

There’s no damn way I’m paying an extra $250 for a reduced weight 42” even as much as I like Cannons.
