Was able to purchase a logged out woodlot. The previous owner left several log piles that were scheduled to be chipped but were overlooked. Salvaging as much as I can before it goes totally punky.

Nice!
You burn the pine inside a stove or in outside burn pit?

Homemade owb. Will burn anything you throw in it. Hope to get some more seasoned wood hauled in. And let this dry for a year, but I'm four cord or more short as it is. So it may get burned green if it comes to it.

I see. Thanks.
No creosote buildup from the green wood?

Honestly yes there is some. But it's not as bad as most would think. Wouldn't burn it in a normal stove, but the owb doesn't mind it. I just alternate dry vs green. Don't do back to back green loads. Give it a dry one between and let it burn itself clean. Not ideal but have to make due sometime.

Came home to a nice surprise. A friend had stopped by and dropped off a heaping pickup load of pine.

I wish I had friends like that!
Good for You, get him a six pack. :)

I too burn anything I can get my hands on if it's free or cheap.
When buying at full price I want delivery of quality logs though.

Either way, great score. All locust burns very well.
Did you say locust Rob :D.
Hey @KS Plainsman here's what black locust looks like. There are also a couple cherry rounds on the ground and a smaller cherry log as well under the cut end of the locust.
Anyone want to come play, we have a lot more at the house now since a storm blew through Thursday .
I didn't really want any green wood right now, but I got a bunch; so much for cleaning all my piles up, but it sure beats not having enough wood :applaudit:.
