ok so i sold a saw to Evan in Greece and it arrived safe and sound but is acting erratically. It will only start with fuel put down the plug hole.
It is my build off saw from the 660 kit saw build off and has a big bore nwp cylinder that John Reilly ported, it is the one with the custom bloody paint job.
The saw has 210+ compression and an oem husqvarna decompression valve.
He checked that the impulse and fuel lines are good and reset the carb screws to one turn out each. I am thinking it is the aftermarket carb at this point though it ran for me for a nice healthy piss rev before i drained the fluids and packaged it for it’s voyage.
I am looking for any other ideas he could try before i ship him a new oem carb, i want to solve the problem ASAP as i know he has future fun plans for this saw.

So...Starting by DAVE IS AWESOME GUY TO DEAL WITH!
He is backing up this deal

However the story goes like this

Upon arrival this Lady wouldn’t fire up even by a Greek Lover.

After many pulls and videos sending to Dave i ve decided to fill some fluids into her hole. Couple pulls and she fired up like a demon, but I didn’t have time to use her.

Again yesterday tried to start her but nothing until i got her wet.

So i played the screws nothing and the lines seem ok however tomorrow i ll go deeper.

At the beginning thought problem was in the spark but after using 3 different plugs. I was pretty ashamed I couldn’t “spark” her.

Conclusion seems while chocked no fuel goes there.

Any advice what & where should look?

After trying to start, immediately check the condition of the spark plug. If it's dry you are not getting fuel. If it's wet you are getting fuel and don't have enough spark to light it up, unless having a serious flooding problem. Once you know which direction to go, then start to narrow it down from there.

That lady is dry until i make her wet.
What would be the dry next step?

Thanks but not sure if it’s carb 100%

That’s why we are looking any possible way

I've also got a verified good coil for a 660 and a Mity Vac. I can pretty much chase down any problem you got. On the saw at least. :D

What he said.

If the plug has fuel after several pulls, I would assume it is a weak coil. Unless you aren’t pulling it over with enough fervor to generate an appropriate spark. I know some coils like a fast spin of the flywheel at startup. I had an 036 like that: pull forever if you didn’t pull very very hard. Replaced the coil and all was well.

Well in a 210+ saw you are pulling or not. No medium level

Well let’s hear what people have to say. I don’t think it’s coil but i can swap from an 100% original 066.

Might be "EVANSAW" should/could pay you a visit..??.. My half cent worth of opinion is in the carb (?Needle seat?) area but I would wonder if MEBBE this saw is getting a bit too much "Fondling" and just doesn't want to go work. :embarazada:
