This stupid thing finally lives, new flywheel key, blade, blade adapter, new fuel line and new drive belt.

Working on a C6 Partner, the piston was stuck from years of sitting.
Quite an interesting saw to work on.
I have a couple of parts to put on and the bar and chain and then hopefully I can get it running without too much trouble.

What kind of battery life you getting out of those?
Dub,
I took this poplar down yesterday for a customer with my T536 LiXP.
Of course I didn't think of the "before picture " until after I'm almost finished, Lol.
Tree was overhanging both houses with big limbs.
I limbed it and blocked it into 16" rounds down to the orange ribbon on one battery charge (4.2 ah battery)
I would like to try the newer 9.? ah battery some day.
Bought the saw and batteries 5 years ago and have since sold my MS200T and 338XPT.

HoHo!

called in sick today babies!

Huffing brake clean and gas is good for a sore throat and vicious cough right?

Lots on the list today

1st up.

This echo blower.
Marty had the hoses from the tank to the carb switched out with the primer bulb after installing a new chineee carb.

Still won’t run for *s-word.

Can you press a longer stud in from the back side? I'm not familiar with the 034-036's

Definitely been considering that.
I don’t think I really have the means to make a stud and I don’t know if I can figure out where to get one that would work.

It’s a pretty standard dia. post but.....

Find the correct size drill bit and cut the chuck end off and use that, that's why I have boxes of old bits

Pull the recoil off and check out the size of the flywheel on those things. Absolutely massive and one of the biggest I’ve seen on a saw. Tons of torque in those old saws. I had a 930 and still regret selling it.
Not an air filter pic but here you go....

The crank counterweights are also pretty beefy. Actually the whole saw is beefy and strong really. Only weakness is the mounts don’t like to be pulled on and watch for corrosion inside the metal gas/oil tank.

Tank looks ok [emoji106]

Need lines and full carb kit for the old Tilly

I'm going to run the cylinder thru the UC to get the carbon out of it but everything else so far is ok .

It ran on a prime before it took it apart.

Looks like the only thing would be to get a case. That’s a bad spot, lots of pressure there. That’s where the spring/band pivot goes and no way JB will hold up there. Welding is the only way.

Even if you clean it all up and get a weld there, the shipping and questionable ability to get the repair perfect makes it not worth it IMHO. The case needs to be disassembled and the part cleaned/bead blasted for a good repair.

An 036 case would work, the bigger recoil screws can be used if you pop the brass collars out of the recoil mount holes, use some blue loctite, and don’t muscle the M5 bolts in too much. An M4 timesert in the M5 holes works as well.

Or tell him the saw has no brake, like many older saws, and to just be careful. That saw is likely closing in on 40 years of service. Everything has a lifespan.

I took this box of saw in on trade a few months ago. When I pulled the recoil off I found this.

More case repair than my skill set allows. Also most of the bolt holes are stripped/wallered out. Given the circumstances a new case seem like a no brainer.
