Best friend fried a 261 a few years ago. He was happy with the service it gave him so gave it to me. New Bailey's 262 top-end and gave it back to him for Christmas. Still runs the crap out of it and smiles every time he fires it up.

I converted one this spring and in my opinion of the 3 changes listed in ordered of biggest power bump were muffler mod, clutch and lastly piston. With the 2 shoe clutch mine would bog pretty easy. Totally different saw with the 3 shoe.

Ya mine would slip pretty easily with the two shoe. And grabs way better with three shoe clutch. It was pretty smoked though.

Clutches are totally overlooked. When people soup up cars... they upgrade the transmission/clutch to handle the power. If you have the option to upgrade the clutch on a saw when modding it... take advantage of that opportunity is what I say. It puts the power to the chain.
