I have a few and they are good bars but its easier for me to get Stihl PRO bars for the same price and available locally. The oil to bar rail holes need to be made bigger on the GB and Stihl ones I have, they were too stingy to adequately oil and bar longer than 16" the way they come. Otherwise they wear very well and seem to weigh about the same.

Dont try and buy any from LCS. They been out of business for awhile now it seems.

Info I saved on them. http://chainsawrepair.createaforum.com/chain/gb-bars/

The smaller ones are foreign made with pretty crappy tips. China Taiwan or whatever.

I never could get the Ti ones in 050 but even the white pro tops do good for my needs.

Its a chainsaw bar who cares about paint wearing off. Sure as heck not me.:risas3:

The orange TI bars as I remember right are one of the Aussie ones. I've got a 44" one I had bought from Left coast. I haven't used it much but it does look to be well constructed and designed, It carries oil very well. The bar doesn't flex much, even not considering its a long bar.

I have worn out 4 of these ti bars and find them about the same as a tsumura bar .
Only done one gb tip and no tsumura but they are all 6 rivit be interesting to see how the 4 rivit tip go's when I get to it .
When you say you wore out 4 and put them on the same level a tsumura what kind of use?

I've have a 16" GB bar .325" that I ran for quite a while on a poulan pro. The saw is deceased but the bar is still in great shape. The steal seams to be harder than your typical Oregon bar. As Kevin mentioned the paint doesn't last long.

Thanks for all of your input, I was browsing their site looking @ Carlton/Oregon chain & decided to see what they had for bars. The price didn’t seem out of line so I thought I would inquire with the brethren here for input. I’m pretty much a brand hoe so buying something that doesn’t say Stihl on it is a big step for me. ;)
