I like the shooting idea, probably be rather expensive, tried it before and bastards are really fast.
I bet he doesn’t have mosquitos in his attic....
don't have mosquito's in Ireland, to much rain I guess

Put a rock in a pair of pantyhose toss it in the air when bats are circling. They’ll go straight for it and get their claws caught in the pantyhose. Pulls em right to the ground.
yeah I'd try that but I'd hate to think that the neighbors think I'm a cross dresser

There are electronic pest control devices that emit a high frequency that interferes with bats "radar". It is said to cause them to leave withing a few days or less. Can't say I've ever used one personally.

I have two bat houses on the south end of the barn. So I have bats flying about in the evening dusk which is good.
Have barn swallows during the day too, fun to watch.
Still there are times when I need to wear my bug jacket to be out side in the evening,

I made some bat houses a few years back. My neighbors thought I was crazy. Niw my neighbors live them. They eat 3 times their weight in bugs every night. They are very useful. I personally would'nt shoot them. The brown bats have been thinning down the last few years. They get the white nose disease.

Bats only live inside your eaves in the insulation. They like warmth. They are harmless to humans and are insectavorus. They only eat insects. Box them in up there in attic by placing a piece of plywood over the joists.

Most of the cases of rabies in our county are from bats. If you get bit you might as well get the shots be cause the odds are it’s carrying rabies. I had a friend get bit in the pool by a rabid bat.

We used to shoot them fukkers at dusk around the old barn. You can burn through a lot of shells and I don't care how good you think you are, when you hit one it's about 95% luck.

Put a rock in a pair of pantyhose toss it in the air when bats are circling. They’ll go straight for it and get their claws caught in the pantyhose. Pulls em right to the ground.
We used to throw the stone up in the air. Then aim shotgun at the stone. The bat will come to the stone

Bats here will relocate usually to cooler climes in winter(as in outside of a house). Your issue might work itself out if you can wait. In the mean time it is legal to do work on your house to prevent them from entering if you live in the dwelling.

Most Irish don't realize it, and I am assuming it's because they have no idea what one looks like, but we do have mosquitoes here. The closer you live to lakes, rivers, or live stock, the more likely you'll see mosquitoes. I was chasing them out of the house in Waterford because we have a dairy on the premises. Here in Bray, they are a bit more rare. But if you leave your doors open, you will eventually get one or two. Mosquitoes LOVE rain. Any place there is standing water after a rain is a perfect place for them to make babies. Our summers have been warm the last few years, we rely on loads of shipping from the med and continent, and that means skeeters have been here for a while. We have used tires holding down a huge tarp over our compost pile in Waterford(from the horse and cow and straw messes left over), and that is a great place to farm mosquitoes. :(
