Since the advent of pinterest, soccer moms nation wide have been wet for any birch twigs and sticks they can get for their crafting stuff.
We had guys going in the state lands in northern Wi hacking it out by the trailer load and selling it.
It sells for ridiculous prices.

I had a box of cookies left over from testing some chains. Put the box out at a garage sale for firewood, but forgot to mark it ($1 for the box). Several women came up and started picking out pieces. Me: 'Do you just want the whole box?' Them: 'No'. Sold a bunch at $1 / cookie!
