Kevin is a man of numerous names. Most know him by @huskihl or Xtra Sausage

Over the past couple years he has ported at least a handful of saws for me. He is very knowledgeable as to what works and what doesn't when it comes to saws. His attention to detail is truly remarkable and shares things throughout the process. Every saw that he has done for me performs flawlessly while putting a smile on my face.

Overall, It Doesn't get any better than Kevin. He is an extremely great guy and builds a damn good saw. I would highly recommended him to anyone looking for port work to a saw.

Couldn’t have said it better myself. I have several saws Kevin has ported and they are a lot of fun to run. As Clint said he always keeps you involved along the way. Great guy who does great work.

I have a 2 saws to date ported by Kevin, I would recommend Kevin to anyone, he kept me in the loop the entire time he had my saw, asked for my preference on muffler mod type and what bar length I was planning on running, I couldn't be happier with how they run, I have met Kevin at a few GTGs and ran some other saws he ported and they all run great, a little saw he built called "Mushroom" really sticks in my head. I hope to have a few more built by him in the near future.

On a serious note, Kevin is about as good as they get fellas. Honest and friendly is what you get. He keeps my logger buddy in saws and were always chatting if he did something a bit different wanting to know what that small change did. Still cant finger out how he gits them fingas an grinder in little saws. [emoji16]
Proud to call him Friend

Kevin @huskihl hooked up a 5100s for me that I bought from another member on the forum. From the time I contacted Kevin about the saw, until the saw arrived, it was just smooth dealings.

He knows his stuff and takes zero time in getting it done. He asked me a few questions and immediately understood where I wanted to go with the saw.

Kevin had the saw done and was posting videos of it cutting wood before I expected. He also hooked up a couple of loops of RS play chain on the grinder for me. They rip. The 5100 is a little terror. Thanks Kev. Very happy with the saw.

I'd gladly send Kevin many more saws to port. Xtra Sausage FTW!

Got my Dolmar back from Kevin. What a saw. Big grin ripping through 20" white oak like butter, could lean on saw hard too. My helper didnt know about saw getting built and was like Holy Sh** what is that??
It was a new never run 6400C that Kevin put a 7910 cylinder on and gave it the 20190316_115724.jpgXtra.
The whole process was fast, smooth and professional as can be. As soon as saw arrived in mail he was on it and sending pics. He kept me in loop whole time and had a vid up before I knew it.
I can not imagine the process going any better than what it did. I appreciate his work ethic. Already sending him my old 7300 to get new bearings, rings, and Xtra Sausage.

Kevin @huskihl has done 2 saws for me an XS241C and a 572XS.

He was extremely professional, his attention to detail is fantastic.

Both Saws exceeded my expectations. He did a solid woods port on the 572 and he took the 241 pretty much all the way.

Text and video updates were great as the saws processed across his bench and he delivered quicker than he committed to.

Under promise and over deliver seems to be his motto.

Every time I pick up the 241 I'm amazed at how well to works. The 572 with 8 pin is downright beastly.

Kevin suggested trying 18" .325 .050 gauge on the 241 and he was right on with that recommendation.

I strongly recommend working with Kevin if you want the xtra sausage treatment.

I took a little time before posting these reviews so that I could spend some time running these saws.

I have been cutting hard for a couple weeks now after receiving my 372 xp xtorq back from Kevin. This is my first ported saw and the whole process with Kevin was very professional. He started work on the saw when he said he would, and kept me up to date with pictures and a running dialogue about it’s intended use. Being my first ported saw, I didn’t know what to expect when I got it back. It’s not an absolute monster, (which he never claimed it would be) it’s really pleasurable to run. Exactly what I want in my work saws. I can give her the dogs on my 32 inch Oregon lite and she’ll eat that whole bar up. It came back from Kevin cleaned up and in a smaller box which saved me money. I would do it again a heartbeat. Looking forward to working with Kevin in the future.
