Husqvarna 3 shoed clutch w/ long spring

I want to put a new spring in a 242 with a long spring. Anybody got a good way of doing it? Donyboy has a good vid on youtube for a 2 shoed, but I'm not sure that will work on a 3 shoed. Thanks.

If it's like the 61, you can put it in a vice with two of the shoes on, lay the third shoe on top, put the spring on all three shoes and pull the third shoe out until you can slide it on. It's been awhile since I've done one but I think that's how I've done them.

Yeah, I used basically the same method but I put the spring in all 3 of the shoes, put 2 of them on the carrier, put the 2 that were on the carrier in a vise, and pried the 3rd shoe on with a screwdriver. Took about 3 minutes.
