Fellas...my kids went above and beyond for my Birthday and Father’s Day tomorrow. My daughter is here but my son is in Washington state with the USS Carl Vinson. They teamed together and bought me a new fire pit for the back patio. It’s a Big Horn 48” from Lowe’s. A damn Cadillac from my last fire pit that actually lasted 3 yrs believe it or not. Last one came from Academy, cheap *s-word, but it lasted a many o’ fire. This one is a fire pit/grill...has a pivoting 360 deg, 27” grill that can be set on top of the fire, or use the included charcoal pan. The grill is adjustable in height. If you don’t need it, remove it and the charcoal grate, scansion it sets on, now it’s back to a regular fire pit. The fire bowl is 29” in diameter, 10” deep. Thicker steel than your average fire pit I guess that’s $150 or less. This was $200, they used my 10% discount, and my daughter and I methodically put it together tonight. We thread-locked every machine screw in it, and everything lined up right, square and plumb til we needed to crank everything down.

I’ll fine tune some things with it, little improvising, but it’s a pretty damn solid fire pit. The kids did good with this one! My daughter sporting a pic!

Nice!

But does it ever really get that cold for a fire down there?

Outside temp has zero to do with a fire in the evening time when we got grills and smokers rollin’, fish fries...but to answer your question, maybe you should venture here when it’s in the 20’s/30’s in the wintertime. Do we get white *s-word...negative...do we get cold *s-word...affirmative!
