Well Im definitely gonna run the piss out of it, im a week behind right now on sawing. I will run it a day stock after I trim the limiters and fatten the hi up a little. Then do a muff mod and reset mix again

That's where my 620p is at. Little muff mod and retune. Only thing I don't care for is the super long sticking out choke rod and the tank handle seems a little cheap. Saws runs excellent!

Yea i looked at the 620p when I was at the Echo dealer. That choke wouldnt last long with me lol. I was thinking about having someone cnc one from billet aluminum and shorten it a bit, if I bought a 620 that is

website is trash, it just plain doesn't work despite the thousands of dollars we have spent to make it work, the ebay link in the thread should work fine.

Yea I have been talking to a saw builder about that. When it gets modded more probably swap in a stihl 461 carb and modify an old echo choke rod to fit that isn't sticking out 2 inches haha

You will be very happy with the 501.My 490 is getting broken in,4 tanks so far and it feels stronger and stronger every time i run it.I've had it at 11.000 for the first 3 tanks (way rich for broke in) and now i tuned it to 12.000.I think it still wants a couple more rpms (like 12.200-12.300) but it will stay that way until the 10th tank.

91 VXL is awesome, my CS-3000 and CS-400 run it. Which bar mount pattern are you using for 3/8" on your 490?

I took a spare 18” A041 and had to shorten the tail but got it to where I can run same chains on my 400 and 490. Have to make sure you lift the bar tip when tightening but it oils fine.

Sounds good. Not sure why Echo has a little niche of 45 and 50cc saws that use .325 with an obscure bar pattern, whereas everything else is 3/8 and uses common bar patterns.

D176 is not that common anymore lol. I keep hearing that new 70cc saw will d009.

The 490 uses a K216, .325, the 590 uses a D176, a 3/8 but only 70 dl for a 20” bar, unlike the “standard” 72 dl for a 20” bar.
