Ok I just want to ask. I have new Kubota GR2120 mower 3cyl diesel and a B2910 Kubota Tractor. What type of oil do you use in your tractors?
Yes I think they are great tractors and want to keep them running a long time.
Thanks

How old is it? Our new MF2706E with 4 cylinder Shibaura calls for 10w30 CJ-4, although 15w40 is permissible. We use Chevron Delo full synthetic.

Yes one new one 15 years old. Was really wondering what brand of oil most people like.
Kubota recommends 10W/30 or 15 W 40
Depends upon temperature.

Rotella is king around here, I've always liked Chevron products so that is what I use in the new tractor. Everything else is gas powered and gets Walmart or Rural King brand synthetic 10w30.

They should also spec the rating. Make sure it meets that rating. Choose your weight based on them and go. I use Rotella in my tractor.

I like the new 10w30 oil for these diesels. I run it in my 17 and used some in the 11 Cummins. If you’re not plowing hard or running a big implement long times working the engine real hard the thinner oil on start up would probably benefit you.

I’ve always ran delo 400. No good reason other than tradition I guess. But I have had some diesels running a long time on it. I do put Kubota oil in my diesel mower but that’s just because I get it with the filter.

We run Rotella in all of ours. I don't think you can go wrong with any good diesel oil. We use to run three brands, but started buying Shell by the drum. I have a three cylinder diesel in the mower and Gator.

Rotella 15W-40 in all our diesels except for Dads 7.3L Ford. It eats it for some reason, so it runs Delo 15W-40 (recommended by all the 7.3L guys). Heck, I even run 15W-40 Rotella in my F-150 with the 4.6L gasser and Dads beater Honda Accord.

Shear strength seems to be lower in Rotella after about 3k miles for some reason. I’d get a service engine soon light when the truck was run hard pulling into higher rpm before shifts. 7.3 and 6.0 are the hardest on oil with the HPOP set up.

Valvoline and the Delo seem to be fine along with motorcraft. Synthetic Rotella worked good too in the 7.3 I had. After that experience I’ve never bought regular Rotella again.

No HPOP on this one Mike, it is one of the good old IDIs. When I first noticed issues with oil consumption I started doing some research online and apparently IDIs are known for eating Rotella. No clear explination why though which is annoying. I suspect it has something to do with the 440 psi static compression. My Cummins loves Rotella though, and I figure if it is good enough for Caterpillar, then it's good enough for who it's for.

How do you determine the sear strength to be lower?

That was what was explained to me about 10-12 years ago about them from an oil guru. The High pressure oil pumps on them run 3200-3600 PSI at full pressure to the injectors. There was a few oils he recommended and Valvoline was the top one for holding up the longest in lab tests. I think Mobil Delvac was up there too.
