Not sure what ya mean by rigid 8 wheeler.
Without my over weight permit my trucks only legal for 57,000lbs. with permit 71,250. Depends on wheelbase, most a truck like mine can go is 72500 or 73500 but it's got to be longer than me

Wish i had a picture of the steel coil I dropped on my 3 axle lead one day. The shop said my pup was gonna be off the Rd for a day but the office had a couple he run for me, then afterwards they sent me to the Ford rouge plant(near Detroit), the guy said how big of a coil you want, knowing I couldn't her two for 75k or so I said the biggest single you can fit on here, he radioed the crane guy and I saw this huge coil coming thru the air towards me

, it was what they call a super coil, it was 72" long and I couldn't walk around it on my trailer with the sides on, I also had to leave two of the bows that held the tarp up off, the coil lifted my tarp about 6" higher than the rest of it lol.
It was 65k, that cabover KW with a heavy front axle and a stack of leaves around 14" thick rode like a dream

Single cylinder 2 strokes still have a bright future. I've been following a 125cc Czech made kart engine for the last few years.
I think of it as a formula 1 race car engine.
It's been reported European builders are getting 70 PS/HP at 20,000rpm out of the little 125cc single cylinder. They claim it has a capability of running 30,000rpm.
And not to stop there they built a twin out of the same engine putting out 140 hp at 250cc.

Last pictures is my little liquid 1982 YZ125 I built 35 years ago. Being right hand ignition I had no choice to run left hand drive with the chain turning backwards. Idea I got from former world hotsaw champ Gary Walrath out of West Linn, Oregon with his Yamaha 292 Thunder Jet snowmobile engine.

I field tested the Oregon 72LG chain, PowerMatch bars, and radial port sprockets for Gary when I was a faller in the late 1970's early '80s.
I saw him cut at Estacada in 1984 and spent a few days with his family.

I just bought a bi-directional Penton/PVL ignition for my YZ 125 from Dan Gray out of Maryland, Two years ago Dan bought out Penton Racing (founder of KTM MX motorcycles).
If I could have bought this PVL ignition 35 years ago it would have saved me alot of headaches from handling it back chaining and then running it awkwardly for years when I converted it to left hand drive.
So I'm presently converting it back to its original profile and reversing its crank rotation.
With a redesign it will go from the present 40 lb PHO to 30 lbs fully fueled with b/c included.

First 2 is from Estacada, Oregon in 1984 of him throwing a 50 foot rooster tail with his 75 h.p. Yamaha 292.
Then he goes onto building a $30K Husqvarna 500 at 90 h.p.

That kenworth outside the saw shop we call it a 8 wheeler rigid
Maximum weight approx 71,000lbs max length 12m or 40ft

Wife and i dropped the kids off with grandma and grandpa and went for a drive. Ended up staring at the Missouri river in Washington, MO for a half hour and then went back home a diffrent route than we came. Was a good waste of a few hours!

That some impressive numbers, my banshee at 443cc makes 112hp and 62 foot pounds at 9500 on methanol to the wheels, I don’t know what the at crank numbers would be. 90hp out of a 500 single is a hard to do! The linger cylinder for the cr500 is a basically drag race cylinder, 550cc that can achieve mid 90hp on methanol, but it takes porting a 50-54mm lectron, custom ignition and pipe. Have seen a lot of kart 125, clam 50hp and kart 250 single clam to make 70hp, not a lot of evidence. Torque is were it’s at, a 125 at 70 hp at 20000rpm would only have 19 foot pounds, the 85 cr500 made roughly 50hp and 50 lbs of torque at 5250 stock. I would love to see what they did to the husky 500!

That Husqvarna 500 was built over 20 years ago. Gary who is a retired Oregon Blount engineer along with his friend built that saw entirely with computerization design. His friend was the computer designer whiz and I've had good talk with him, truly an amazing intelligent guy.

That 500 engine was for 1 cut hot start competition only, timer starts when chain hits wood .
It was tied into a life support system of cooling and electronics connected through hoses and cables via a portable cart.
Just made 1 downward cut through a 30" + diameter douglas fir. I do believe they could have spent $30K on it as he claimed.

But in the Hayward or Stihl Timbersports 20" and smaller wood, cold start 3 cut these formula 1 style high revving no torque engines don't fly.
These saws have to be at WOT immediately into the wood after pulling the starter rope. Both the operator and saw share 50% of the ability to make the timer stop the fastest. Big cfm carbs would only hurt elapsed time in the first cut. Hot start they work ok.
If you compare top fuel funny cars they too start a drag race "hot start".

Hot start, cold start competition vary all over the world.
In our area in the 1970's early '80s we had cold start plus had to makes 3 cuts down up down between lines. Cut a line you're disqualified

No wonder we never got any competition from PNW competitors. Our cold and rules scared them away.
