Anyone have a part number for large dual spikes

Tried putting this style on my 462 and the chain roller catcher wouldn’t line up.

Different part number than the ones I have But it’s the same spike... they fit the 1122 series and 461 etc.

I heard others using the old p/n with a bit of grinding to fit.

I did take a dremel and ground the inside of the spike so it would bolt to the clutch cover. I had the roller catcher mounted to the outside spike and it was a half inch from lining up with the inside spike. I’ll mess around with it some more I guess. It was a brand new setup so I know the roller catcher isn’t bent.

I ground mine too to fit the outside cover. The roller catch bolt hole was not close to lining up. It was aftermarket though.

There is the problem, they spikes on the 461 460... are different on the clutch cover. They won’t fit on the 462.
You need the ones from the 440 660 661

661 R spikes are large and vented and would look great on a light weight 462. I have them on one of my Hybrids.

I just put the Stihl outer spike on my 462, but it does not have a separate chain catch.

Sounds like you need a longer roller catcher then.
The dogs are mounted where they are supposed to mount are they not?How would a different set of dogs be different with that catcher?

I believe the 462 is compatible with 440/660/661 spikes, but not 460/461.

Dawgs from a 461 won't line up on a 462.

Buy them from a 440/064/661 and like and they'll work.

These things get tricky with spikes. My 361 wears the same as the 362. OEM 029-390 inner AM outer. Small clutch cover. Standard catcher. Works good.

Hey everyone, it's been a year since the last video and honestly this is the first tree I've cut since. A tricky one too, backed onto a fence 2 metres away from the road, only one way for it to go.

Firewood season is here so hopefully the 462 will see some more action...
