Oh man, somebody stole your coil.

looks weird, but you can really notice the magnetic resistance of the big generator inside flywheel of the 500i

So what was your impression cutting with it? Handling? Seems to be pretty snotty and good torque.

i had not much time today, only two cuts, but my first impression so far it feels like good running 681/79 powerwise. In terms of handling it feels more like a 60cc saw in my hands, like the 462 before. The throttle response is super snappy, very fast acceleration for a stock saw, even faster than the 462.

Seemed like the av's were pretty soft, even with that lightweight bar.

yes they are! It's a fuel injected (to the case) 2 stroke engine but still needs pre-mixed fuel, the only (two stroke) engine with seperate lubrication i know for handheld-devices is the Solo 881 cutter with iLube https://de.solo.global/gb/cut-off-machines/31-881-cut-off-machine-ilube.html
Thanks for clarifying, is there any recommendations on oil ratio? I know most run 40:1 w mtronic and autotune saws, does the fuel injection change any of this?I giess biggest worry is viscosity.

biggest worry is atomization which is generally but not absolutely related to viscosity. I would think you could get injected fuel to atomize more efficiently with a good pressurized spray through a nozzle than fuel being sucked into a carburetor. So it's possible you could get away with higher viscosity. Don't know why you would want to though.

Like all other current saw's in their line up, Stihl recommends a mixture of 50:1

A big point is also, here in germany (i think some other european countries too) you have to use premixed 50:1 alkylate fuel (Aspen, Motomix) for commercial use by law.

As far as the function of the injection is concerned, on closer examination you can see that it is not rocket science. The injector just sprays fuel in the intake. So it is not directly injected to crankcase like i thougt before.

After the weekend, I will disassemble the saw to see it exactly ;)
