Just checked the Husky dealer website. The elusive C83 (3/8 .050) chain is in stock at the Columbia SC warehouse and available for immediate shipping. Looks like the wait is over. No 100' rolls available yet but there are 20", 24", and 28" loops in stock.

I've been running the C-85 (.058) for quite some time on 18" and 20" loops. I'm impressed with the chain thus far.

It seems to have a longer duration between sharpening and a lot less stretch than Oregon chain. Pretty aggressive right out of the box.

From what I have used the C83 it's on par with the RS from Stihl, but much cheaper in my area.

Justin there's some wiggle room in the msrp price. Obviously you have a good relationship with your local Husqvarna dealer. Or your local Stihl dealer doesn't value your business........Can't believe you haven't sold your stihl chains as well, just kidding, seriously. I dont want pages of douchbaggery to ensue.

just the facts ma'am....
3/8 .050 72 585550072 msrp $31.19
3/8 .050 84 585500084 msrp $36.19
3/8 .050 93 585500093 msrp $39.94

I gave just the facts for my area, Stihl makes a great chain, for the C83 to be close is a compliment, BTW it's Dustin not Justin. I generally got my RS from Julian, he always took care of me on the pricing as well, good dude there. Just nice to have the option to go grab a few loops and not wait on shipping if I need them.

Only reason I posted this was to bring attention that this highly anticipated new chain was available in the southeast. I did a search on the site before i posted. I did not see any new posts about availability.

Have you compared it to the exl yet.
I like it, need to try these out when things dry out a little, it's the exl.

When you handle the loop it moves with no resistance whatsoever. I was hoping for a little more hook on the EXL. I’ll try and do a video later in the day if I can get away from the bench. I don’t think I have a file that will recreate that profile on the C83 tho. Lol. You can feel and see the quality of the husky chain. They have definitely done their homework.

Had my new 572 out yesterday bucking 20'' red oak on the ground, the c83 cut two blocks off just fine but when I started the 3rd block I knew it had hit the dirt, it still cut but I had to help it thru.
I got the file out and did just enough to change the profile of the tooth to the file,
some of the corners still had the little shiny point, but I got the chain back to about 85-90%, it's good smooth chain.
